Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

I can only see this working as a short-term fix rather than a long-term solution on the bigger problem. The "bigger problem" being untreated mental conditions. There's a reason that these shooters are all depressed loners. There are more problems in addition to gun laws and untreated mental health problems as well. The high crime rate is a problem as well as the availability of illegal weapons, drugs, etc.
I still stand by my opinion that the US needs to improve it's police force in order to have better responses to situations like this; in addition to dealing with the crime and the drugs and the smuggling and whatever else is going on over there. The biggest help would be abolishing this ridiculous War on Drugs. Following that, we need to get better at dealing with poverty. Those two things alone have a huge number of wide-ranging affects on violent crime rates. But that only really affects violent crime in general; these spree shooters are a special case.
Treating mental conditions is definitely a large factor in these massacres. The example I'm most familiar with is the VT killer; this guy was seriously messed up, and had been that way for years. In regards to treating his condition, the only way to describe it is as criminal neglect. There was no excuse for the way that psychiatrists just ignored his problems.Better treatment of mental health (or really just better healthcare in general), better police forces, more stringent gun restrictions but not to the point of Australia (a good compromise, yes?), a better economy, a nicer youth culture, a decreased criminal culture, more stuff like this.
It's a long list, but you can't just not do anything. If I could help I would.
