Subject: The Hobbit doesn't make ANY sense at all..

So Gandalf can call those big birds that can fly you everywhere, why didn't he use those birds to go to Erebor? It doesn't make any sense at all.

If I ever get AIDS, I'm going to sleep with another AIDS person so my AIDS cancel each other out, or I'm going to make the AIDS I already have worse.

Stop ruining the magic of the story!

Gandalf knows that he has the ability to talk with the moth to get the big birds, why didn't he capture any moth so he can use it whenever the -blam!- he wants?
Tolkien is the worst writer ever.

Because if your friend called you up and asked for you to give him a piggy back ride to the moon, would you go "OK, sure thing bro".

Because the King of the Eagles only could bring fly them to the tower(?). It's been a while since I read the books, and I haven't seen the movie yet, will later today!

Cuz magic and how stories are told.
Just like how everyone says WHY DIDN'T FRODO GET FLOWN TO MORDOR?

No, in the books, the Lord of the Eages HEARS the fighting and the screaming of the Wargs. He gathers his eagles, and moves to the noises.

In the books it was all one coincidence.

Also, the trees didn't fall in the books, they BURNED

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

That's it! Thank you for clarification! They did burn, because the goblins set them on fire, so they would come down, right?

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Well in the book he doesn't call the Eagles, they just happen to be flying by and notice the forest fire. And the Eagles have better things to do than taxi them all the way there I suppose.

Actually, it's explained why in the books, I can't give a full explaination as it's been a while, so this wont fully cover it, but the eagles prefer not to get involved with the troubles of men. I have forgotten the reasons why they will intervene however.

Well the fire actually started because of Gandalf, because he threw those things at the wargs...

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

The Eagles aren't Gandalf's pets.

He who cannot command himself should obey. And many can command themselves, but much is still lacking before they can obey themselves.

It's called a story, get over it.

Oh i know it's all in the books. I know how the book goes compared to the movie. But i thought that was just a given anyway. Books and movies ABOUT books never follow exactly. XD
