I hate to bring up a game that few people like. But starkller from forced unleashed could just wave his hand at a huge ass spaceship and watch it to bye bye. This argument is irrelevant, anyone can create something more powerful in their own universe just by writing it.

Another one, The Didact could just compose all of the Spartan IIs and the Space Marines at the push of a button.

Hey guys I just created my own scfi game where they have super soldiers called "Ants". They can beat anything including giant space ships by just coughing. Seriously arguing over two different stories seems pretty stupid when one can be made stronger than the other simply by saying so.

Barring that, Kaldor Draigo. Who could probably take on the Unsc by himself.

Would a Spartan Laser be able to take down a Space Marine?

  • 12.16.2012 2:32 PM PDT

Covan was here, December 20th.

Come back later, after he's out of Parris Island.

Because the 40k Universe is -blam!- retarded with all its near invincible crap.

Compared to other Universe, everyone in WH40K are Gods. But in WH40K itself, almost everything is weak as -blam!- and billions die every day.

Star wars.

There is a character in the Star Wars universe that basically managed to destroy an entire solar system.

Are you referring to Nihilus? He could blink at the Space Marines and the Spartan IIs and they would be dead.

I can't take him seriously after I watched the trails of Draigo.

Anyhow, I wonder how well Kharn would fair against the UNSC.

The shoulder pads and chestpiece on mark 7 and mark 8 could probably take it.

Any where else would most likely go through.

Then the Necrons would just vaporize him in a single shot.

Seeing as how he has the personal protection of the blood God, not much could actually touch him. And there's really no living creature in the halo universe that could duel him and come out on top.

It would be pretty funny if both the covenant and the UNSC both got their arses handed to them by one guy with a really bad mean streak.

As it is, SMs are hard to catch by surprise. A marine was able to hear the heartbeat of an unborn child on the other side of the room, for starters. They have excellent eyesight, and when they want to, they can move deceptively quietly and fast.

See.. That's where things just cross the line.

The ability to hear someones heartbeat. Okay.
The ability to hear someones heartbeat on the other side of the room. Getting a little ridiculous but I can roll with it.
The ability to hear an unborn baby's heartbeat on the other side of the room. Okay guys.. We're done here. This is just ridiculous.

it was boring
You complain about everything getting boring sooner or later.

The Space Marines have giant bullets that explode, VERY tough armor, extremely fast reflexes, and are heavily augmented.

They could kill a SPARTAN-II.

And above me, with the heartbeat thing.
Everything is ridiculously OP.
Which is why it's awesome.

I don't think one guy, no matter who he is, could survive being blasted by hundreds of capital ships. I don't care if his armor is made from God's bones.
We are talking hundreds of Mac guns and thousands of excavation beams. Not to mention longswords armed with nukes and of courses the spartan IIs, IIIs, IVs and the ODSTs.

Edit: Oh and how could I forget, the massive forces of Elites, Brutes, and Hunters from the Covenant's side.

Well sure, if you include spaceship, Kharn would lose. Lucius, on the other hand...

Spartan>Space Marine if the Spartans have element of suprise.

Marine>>>>Spartan in straight up fight.
Not even surprise will give a spartan a lasting edge over a space marine

According to the books, even humans can slaughter space marines if they have surprise. They are consistently decimated by stealth enemies of any race. And big guns, obviously, but the Spartans have those too.

If you are talking constantly, by the one passage in the first Horus Heresy book, sure.

But then again, those were most likely genetically modified humans with plasma guns equalling those of the Astartes, and with invisibility cloaks that even the power of the Autosenses couldn't get through.

Spartans would have utterly demolished by such an attack, whereas maybe three Space Marines died.

Remember this also, Space Marine armour has evolved over the years. Current M.7 and M.8 armour has been shown to survive plasma pistol shots.

I admit that Spartan IIs would get their asses kicked by the Space Marines in a straight-up fight, but with the element of surprise and their undeniable advantage in mobility I'd say a Spartan has a 40% chance of victory against a Space Marine.

Space Marines aren't as slow or immobile as people think they are. Only those in Terminator Armor are.

Not even that any more, Termies are shown to be just as fast as any marine.

In the novelised version of Dawn of War, we see a Terminator dodging bullets and doing back flips.

WTF? As much as I like Warhammer 40K, that's just ludicrous. Something that can survive being stepped on by a Reaver Titan shouldn't be dodging bullets and doing back flips

Correct me if I am wrong here, Onlinemph, but wasn't that particular passage written by C.S. Goto?

Is still only one guy. I don't know exactly how powerful he is, but if he could survive that, he is literally just God. Here would have to be a new Bible written around him because he is that good.

Well, if somebody put an entire block of their units behind him, and Kharn was feeling quite clumsy...

Because you can't kill a spartan, you can only lose track of his current location.
