A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.
I think matchmaking is easily the biggest flaw in Halo 4. Lack of Social/Ranked is why I quit playing it after few weeks. And no, I don't need a ranking system to find the game enjoyable, it's the fact that I couldn't play with my friends who weren't as skilled in Halo games, since current matchmaking only takes account the highest trueskill of the party, that being me, and rest of my friends being noobs.
