Subject: There's a quit ban in Halo 4

Looks like that guy doesn't know the little trick for getting out of JIP matches without quitting.

Halo 3 is where the morons of the universe congregates.

I am thinking of an old story. "Three Billy Goats Gruff" (hint the troll dies at the end)

343i are a piss poor excuse of a game developers. At least Bungie gave you a heads up.
and it was only 10 minutes to boot, just enough time for people to moan on the reach forum or go get something to eat but not much more

Eh, Bungie still never implemented a warning system for the Mute Ban, which was an entirely subjective ban as opposed to the objective Quit Ban.

I get happier and happier that I only rented Halo 4 with each passing bit of news.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

It can't be that bad. I mean if it is anything like Reach's it only lasts like...

My ban on the waypoint forums has gone up 60 years.

lolwhat?

What's the thread say?

They introduced a quit ban without even posting/informing people about it.

Quit ban lasts one hour.

One hour without warning WTF?

Basically, you have two clashing systems of keeping people in games. On one hand, you have JIP, which fills up spots when people leave a game.

On the other, you have a quit ban which discourages leaving games. WTF?

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

It's basically the result of listening to what you call "Waypoint kiddies." I'm typically not one for pointing fingers but that's exactly what it is.

In their defense, they are just listening to their most vocal and popular community group so you can't blame them entirely. Of course, they do have some of the blame for implementing such contradictory systems.

I guess I'm becoming a nostalgic gamer in the sense that I now look back on the "good ol' days" and wish they were more like back then. Back when listening to your community did not consist of implementing a stupid Grifball playlist. Sorry, everyone, that doesn't mean they listen. It only benefits them as a company by getting more people to play. It is not an indication they really care.

I think the upcoming ranking system is going to help quite a bit. I know we will find flaws and pick them apart and likely discard it because it's not 1-50 but at least it's something. They didn't have to. And THAT is listening.

It's so the people whom were quitted from don't get penalised cos of one -blam!- teammate.

Agreed. Even if it isn't much, the fact that they are listening says something.

WHY HAVE JIP IF YOU'RE GOING TO IMPLEMENT SUCH A LONG ASS QUIT BAN THEN? HOW DO YOU NOT SEE HOW THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE?

Well that one doesn't really affect game-play...

It's hard to "when" with teammates that are quitting.

Hi

I know, let's add an option into the game, but punish players for using it!

Next, you'll get banned for changing your armour.

Quit ban lasts one hour.
One hour? And people moaned about the ten minutes on Reach.
I blame the tool that made 10 alts and floated a quitter hate thread on the forums threw bumps for about a year.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Okay, people are looking at this entirely wrong. The Join in Progress system and the Quit Bans don't contradict each other, they balance each other out.

If a person quits, not only is that person being punished for quitting your team, but he is also being replaced with someone. So everything ends up well, you aren't at a disadvantage for losing a teammate, and the dick who quit is being rightfully punished.

More realistically, banned for editing your loadouts during a game.

During the Beta I got a Mute Ban and I was unable to chat with friends outside of party chat.

It absolutely affects gameplay, Halo is a social game, if you remove that social aspect based on completely subjective evidence, that affects the experience.
