Everyone hears a certain element of a song over the rest. Which is it for you?

I mainly hear bass the most.

Usually a tie between vocals and guitar. Drums right behind that and then bass. Other would be dependent on what it is in particular songs like the cowbell in "Don't Fear the Reaper."

  • 12.16.2012 11:44 AM PDT

Depends on the song. Edit, also why isn't piano on this list?

in·dif·fer·ence
the fact or state of being indifferent; lack of care or concern and empathy demonstrated by an absence of emotional reactions.

Drums followed by guitar.

Argle argle!

Depends on the artist.
In Iron Maiden, for instance, I hear vocals, bass, and guitar all equally well.
But in the Beatles I hear mainly vocals.
In Led Zeppelin, I tend to hear a lot of guitar.

It's a case-by-case deal for me.

Drums. I'm a drummer though, so it makes sense.

Any answer besides drums is wrong.

Unless you are mentally incapable of grasping rhythm.

Bass, then vocals.

"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

Guitars and drums (not counting vocals as instruments).
From there, I focus on whatever is I'm interested in most at that moment.

  • 12.16.2012 11:59 AM PDT

Now let's get down to business, I don't got no time to play around, what is this?

It's close between guitar and drums. I tend to listen out for the drums more though, but I don't listen to rock music much.

I don't get how people hear bass the most. It's supposed to be in the background.

Before I became a bassist, I didn't even hear it. Now that I've been playing for years, my ears instantly magnetize to it.

  • 12.16.2012 12:07 PM PDT

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Drums and vocals, because my car's stereo sucks.

I usually hear everything evenly when I'm using my headphones at home.

Only if you listen to boring root pluggers.

The bass is more important the guitar in most Chili Pepper songs

Would've been more impressed if you linked Funky Monks though.

Funk is not rock though. Chili peppers (at this stage) are a combination.
