From the latest bungie posting: Today, I swear I saw some Grunts do a classic pincer-movement to trap me in a narrow canyon. So what do you guys think is a classic pincer-movement?
I think its when two sides converge together on the enemy. So the grunts would both be closing in on the cheif.

A Pinver Manuver, is like a better coordinated 'Horse-Shoe Ambush'it is when a force moving forward, is confronted by an enemy in a V shape. The V being the enemy moving around the I moving enemy I VThe "I" Is moving toward the point in the "V", there-by surrounding the enemy. However he is in a canyon. So it would be like:I i I V [Edited on 7/5/2006]
Now my military lingo is a bit rusty, but isn't that when you get like boxed in?

Not quite, in the Pincer, you leave the enemy's direct 'south' avalible for retreat. Otherwise, they may fight more ferociously. Although you attack their flanks in such a way that, they are litterally confronted by contacts on all sides.
