Subject: Is anyone else offended when people talk about Christmas?

Be sure to tell everyone how cool you are. If you don't tell them, they won't know.

No, nope nope. Get over it. Your argument doesn't make more sense. If you don't like a holiday, don't celebrate it, and don't whine because other people do enjoy it.

People act as if muttering the phrase "I am offended" gives them some right against something. Nope, saying "im offended" is just you whining.

What if I told you...

*scoots in closer*

I hate you

If you get offended over that then you have problems.

You have all made me laugh and i have even met some new friends, just know that this place you have is something really special i didn't ever seem to appreciate. Farewell you crazy bastards, i havent teared up in a long time......Giraff95 signing out for a time unknown. :)

When people talk about Christmas, it offends me, because I don't celebrate Christmas and I find it to be a very offensive holiday. Wouldn't it make more sense to make the legal national holiday fall under the collective term "Holiday?"
Your the kind of people that make me want to smack my head against the wall, People celebrate what they want, No one is complaining about your holiday

Rock bottom is no place to set up camp. Especially in the dark.

No, because I'm not a self-centered prick that gets mad over anything

This.

Merry Christmas, joyous Kwanza, happy Hanukkah, or happy holidays. All of these are just saying nice things to me, no matter what I believe. I myself am an atheist, but I still take it as a compliment when people say these things as all they're doing is giving us good tidings in their own way.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I'm an Atheist and, really, it's more of a commercial holiday than anything now. I buy gifts for others and they buy gifts for me. I do it because it's socially "the right thing to do." I wouldn't care if the gift exchanging suddenly stopped because, hell, I'd save quite a bit of money.

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

I intend to offend, brah.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

No... You have the right to celebrate whatever holiday you wish, but not to force anyone else not to celebrate the holiday they wish.

I celebrate Christmas, but I don't care what anyone else celebrates. If someone said, "Happy Hannukah!" to me, I would just say, "You too."

There's nothing offensive about this. It's just like saying, "Good morning."

You are one intolerant mother -blam!-.

I'd recommend taking a 1st grade class on social interactions.

I've got a fan!

Do Christians get offended when you talk about Thursday? Thursday is a secular day with no religious celebration (unless one coincidentally happens to fall on a Thursday). Wouldn't it make more sense for religious people to call Thursday "God's Day #5"?

I am very offended by Thursday, especially when people say things about it.

I like the way you think.

I'm not sure what offends you about it. there are devout muslims and sikhs in my city who celebrate christmas happily, which is quite hypocritical as the muslims would be upset if I celebrated ede.

  • 12.16.2012 1:05 PM PDT

You just lost the game. Now facepalm yourself for clicking this :P

Christmas is too dug into tradition for us to rename it or alter it in anyway. And people would still call it Christmas even if the official name was changed. Get over yourself.

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

OMG Op I am so offended by you even mentioning it.

Skin is that thin huh? Sometimes people say Happy Holidays because people celebrate holidays OTHER than Christmas? And unless you know the person, you aren't exactly going to know what they celebrate.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

I lol'd. Good one OP. Wait, that was on purpose, right?

  • 12.16.2012 1:44 PM PDT

People misuse the word offensive, the OP is no exception.

Something offensive is like when someone insults you. You don't see me getting in a knot if someone says Happy Hanukah to me or something.

It's like when muslims made a big deal about the music in the fire temple in ocarina of time.

Ugh I'm to tired to right a coherent arguement for this though... maybe later.
