On a related note, ******'s mom has really nice boobs, and it doesn't take much booze or encouragement to get her to let the puppies out of the pen...if you know what I mean...

LMAO

Oh boy, lets see where this goes.

I'll bring the tritium laser cutters if you bring the beer!

Funny story.

They're pretty to look at.

I eat my milk...

...without any milk.

Because they're the best at what they do.

I am going to say to attempt to help those who could never get on the academic ladder. Whilst -blam!- forgetting about us at the top of the ladder.

GOAT

Athletes are damned good role models.

What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger

Sports are physically impressive, whether you like it or not. People push their bodies to the limits, so they deserve recognition.

With that said, academic pursuits are still important.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd!

I don't know, I think stuff like Olympics are great, countries battling for who is the best, good sportsmanship without firearms and bombs.

But team sports is my cup of tea, being a Finn, I love Ice-hockey.

Hopefully NHL lockout won't be whole season long. :(

Now let's get down to business, I don't got no time to play around, what is this?

Partly because it's impressive, watching Usain Bolt is just incredible in my opinion, and the same goes for other sports. Also, because they're meant to be role models, to encourage you to take up the sport and promote a healthy lifestyle. Hard to believe if you watch football, especially the English leagues, but it's still true to some extent.

Why was Jimmy Page inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Because he could play a few notes pretty well.

Speaking as someone who came from a division 3 school with 120 football players, I can agree that there is far too much emphasis on athletics in college. Basically none of those guys are going to be able to do anything coming from a D3 school. Even if it is a draw of alumni money, the amount of time/effort/social praise that goes into it really doesn't make it worthwhile.

i don't now but i hope esports take over. LOL can be very entertaining

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

Because everything in acedemia is visually boring.

yumadtho.

I beg the question, who is "inspired" by somebody being particularly good at a sport?

Millions. Millions, dude.

  • 12.16.2012 2:34 PM PDT

I hope youre not serious OP

  • 12.16.2012 2:35 PM PDT

Jack of all trades, master of none.

Sport is important. People need to stay fit.

That said, sports people get too much money.
