Hello.

When in doubt, whip it out.

You are in doubt of this situation, you know the drill.

No simple answer to that; you will feel that way for a very long time, even after finding a new girl.

He's really good for her and honestly I'm happy that she's happy. The guy does everything and anything for her, and they just get along so perfectly.

There, leave it at that.

You should stop being her back up boyfriend.

It's unbecoming.

This. The last thing you want is to be involved in a bad situation. Believe me, they're not fun to watch- especially when you're on the sidelines. So remember, start digging boy because you need to get back to the surface. The sooner you stop digging your grave the better. Get yourself out of this drama. Watching isn't fun and neither is being a part of it.

Could you elaborate?

She and her boyfriend need to work things out themselves; you shouldn't put yourself in a scenario where she comes to you for help. That's not your role anymore.

I guess.

Friendships hardly work out after break ups. You broke up for a reason. Can you explain this reason? It may give everyone a better understanding as to what is actually happening here.

Well it was sort of a distance thing, different towns and we only saw eachother maybe once a week so we both agreed we should stop. But I also feel like the friend of hers had something to do with it because they started dating not too long after. And the more I type these things out the more I feel like I should just stray away from her. Hmm
Well, I'm not encouraging you stray away from her but keeping your distance seems to be the best idea to me. She loves you but not enough to be with you (because of distance) yet she still relies on you to be a boyfriend type person when she isn't as happy as she thinks she is?

Though I'm engaged to be married, I would be furious if my fiancé went to his ex gf if he had a problem with our relationship. Friends or not.

The fact that you two still love each other and regularly express it, is the biggest problem.

Listen to CamCamm. All you're doing is setting yourself up for some major heartbreak.

Because some people have no one else to talk to about this stuff?

Because we are real people and some of us have real and honest replies.

No one is forcing him to take any of our advice. So why not?
