It was awesome wasn't it? I still think back to H2 as the gold standard of Halo (online) multiplayers.

Clocked up 8,000 games back in H2.

Bones of my enemies.

You missed out on the glory days of Halo, when Halo was in it's prime and the community wasn't a bunch of morons voting for Haven 10 times in a row.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Some of the best times I have ever had on live were in Halo 2.

Retarded customs were the best.

Halo 2 was good.

Halo 3 was better IMO.

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

Voice masking was pretty legit.

Remember some of those crazy pre-patch rules??

'If you tie in a team game, red team wins.'

"You are the last of your kind: bred for combat, built for war. You're the master of any weapon, pilot of any vehicle, and fear no enemy"

It was simple.

Halo 2 was the best Halo game
A7x FoREVer!

I joined the millions that got Xbox Live solely to play Halo 2 on. Best times to play Live was back then. It was actually pretty common to find a team with everyone using a mic back then...

Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

You missed out on Waterworks and Headlong. You missed out on the rocket sword glitch. You missed out on the days when most people had mics and you could have pleasant conversations with the majority of people.

"When I joined the Corps, we didn't have any fancy-schmanzy tanks. We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock for the whole platoon—and we had to share the rock!"

-Sgt. Johnson

Here are some things people used to do in Halo CE PC:

Make spartan towers.

Using the banshee to get to hiding spots in Blood Gulch.

You were called a noob for using Banshee.

Shotguns only Longest.

If you got past the invisible wall on an island map there was rumored to be an energy sword.

In a BTB map shaped like a C you could get a teammate to ram you with a warthog into the other teams base.

Filling up the caves in Blood Gulch with vehicles.

Trolling people by using chat to fill up their screen.

Awesome free-for-alls.

Rockets only.

Warthog doors on Blood Gulch.

Good times.

It's debatable whether Halo 2 were the golden days of Halo. What it definitely was was the golden days of Xbox Live. This was when the XBL community was at its best, everyone active, talking, playing with strangers in customs...it was a blast every time you hopped on.

The XBL community we have nowadays is the complete opposite of what it used to be, everyone isolates themselves from randoms. Not to mention Halo 2 was just a fun ass game overall. My favorite online game of all time.

I didn't get to play a whole bunch of Halo 2 but thats so true. I remember in its dying days playing a tonne of customs with random people, everyone mic'd.

I had the chance to and I never played a single match.

I never got a chance to play the MM in it's prime. By the time I showed up it was just the few seriously devoted players left. So there was no fun involved in my time playing it.

But in the days before I had xbox live, I played the hell out of the campaign. I probably got more time put into Halo 2's campaign than all the others combined.

We are soldiers without borders, our purpose defined by the era we live in. This is our Heaven, and our Hell.

Imagine Halo Matchmaking that is literally impossible to get tired of... That's H2.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

It wasn't that great. You didn't miss much.

strangers in customs

I'm in the same boat with the OP. But I actually did this once or twice in Reach. Most fun I had in weeks playing that game.

Pretty much, no customizing armor, no veto map/gametype, or progressive ranking system. You played it cause you loved it.
