Subject: Dragonborn or Dawnguard?

Watch out. If I post in your thread, chances are it'll die. I've been cursed, and if I kill your thread, I'm sorry.

So I've recently got int the mood to play Skyrim again, and was wondering which of the DLCs is better.

Dragonborn or Dawnguard? Please state why

The black wind begins to blow... Okay... give me your best shot... If you're prepared for the void!

Dragonborn

Dawnguard suffered because you went through locations that already existed in the main game, plus there was no re playability through the main quest as no matter what faction you chose it was practically the same. Plus there weren't that many side missions.

Dragonborn has loads of side missions, completely new location and a decent main story.

Easy decision.

I only have Hearthfire and Dawnguard since I play on PC, but from what I've heard, Dragonborn is way better.

Dawnguard felt lacking to me. It was still good, but lacking...

I got a couple of regrettable tattoos but, you can't see 'em when I wear a black suit.

Hmmm well what do you want? Better weapons or better locations?

Dawnguard has better weapons, Dragonborn has more map and locations to explore.

I'd probably lean towards Dragonborn myself but I do love my Dwarven Crossbow.

How do I shot Web Gun???

Dragonborn is easily the winner of this discussion. Dawnguard was...ok. It mostly added new material on a already existing field. Whereas Dragonborn actually brings you just off the borders of Morrowind. (which fits the rumors suggesting that since Bethesda actually made land for Morrowind and Cyrodiil, that future DLC featuring these two would be possible)

But so far, comparing Dawnguard to Dragonborn is like comparing Knights of the Nine to Shivering Isles. In that order.

Plus dawnguard started those stupid random vampire attacks, I want NPC'S to live!

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

I heard Dragonborn has re-spec. Therefore buying Dragonborn is buying god-mode.

Yeah those are quite annoying..... I just reverse-pickpocketing legendary ebony/daedric/dragonbone weapons and shields onto those NPCs and they do just fine now.

Watching an old lady slicing a Vampire to pieces with a daedric dagger is one of the greatest things I've seen. Just hilarious.

...This. It costs just as much as Skyrim's DLC.

  • 12.16.2012 8:23 PM PDT

Dragonborn hands down. It's an actual expansion instead of a few locations added to the map with a quest.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

This, but I play on Xbox. Dawnguard was pretty boring. Crossbow the girl who helps you and the new perks were the only things i liked
