TKAM and Of Mice and Men weren't that bad.

They didn't put me to sleep like Great Expectations did.
If anything did, it was definitely Of Mice and Men, and then The Great Gatsby. To Kill a Mockingbird wasn't THAT bad, but I definitely don't consider it good.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

George kills Lennie.

Oh yeah, I forgot.
-Spoiler Alert-
Can't tell if trolling or serious.
So much fail.
Book is pretty good. Only thing i dislike is the slow start, which makes the ADHD kids here instantly go "ONG GAIS THEZ BOOK R BAD CUZ DERP, WHERS MAH TL;DR? GHEEYYYYYY."

Actually no, it was slow and incredibly dull the entire way through.

Oh god Great Expectations. I hated that book so much that I burned it to celebrate the end of my freshman year. There's just something about Dickens style that I don't like.

OP, don't take these opinions of the first four of five posters seriously.

Think about this: These are the same people that think the Halo books are good.

"You get what you put into it."

When Legendary is too mainstream, you have Heroic. When you're the leader of the church of MLGeezus, have Epic in your username, and can't write 'About Me's' to save your life, what do you get?

This guy. And now, an side note: Most things I post contain lethal doses of sarcasm, so be warned, and try not to take me seriously.

Finally, a message to Bungie trolls everywhere.

The beginning was slow and horrible, but it picked up and got pretty good toward the end.

Dat court case.

The Halo books were meh at best. At least they're still more engaging than To Kill a Mockingbird.

@spaboolly

The responses in this thread explain so much about the Flood.

Apparently a startling amount of people in here never learned how to read.

Love reading. Hate books that have absolutely no ability to captivate their reader.

This may come as a shock, but back in the olden days, people read books to learn things, not to be entertained. Along the same concept, writers published novels to share their ideas, not to make money.

Just because people have now been spoiled by Twilight and Micheal Bay movies does not mean that the purpose of classic literature has changed. I'm sorry the story doesn't captivate you, but To Kill a Mockingbird is meant to make a comment on social affairs of the time, which it does well.

Same with every other book mentioned in this thread so far, minus the ridiculous comparisons to the Halo novels.

So you went to the trouble of clicking on my profile, either to send a group invite or hate message, or to check my Halo stats and call me a BK. I like Peanut Butter Waffles.

Of course it makes a good comment on social affairs of the time, but why a book must state social affairs as basic as that is beyond me in the first place.

And I hate stories that are for 100% pure entertainment. Absolutely hate Michael Bay movies, love Lord of the Rings books/movies.

I think the simplicity of it only makes the story more poignant. It is told through the eyes of a child because children represent innocence.

Don't get me wrong... there are some books that are boring beyond redemption because they really have no substance to them. But I just hate people treating all classic literature as if it's worthless just because they're not entertained by it.

The amount of hate for TKAM in this thread is surprising to me. I thought it was a great book.

Well I honestly didn't expect all the quoting of what I said, so sorry about that. I have nothing against literature such as TkaM; to each his own.

And I am probably just trolling you right now....especially if it is a controversial thread

What is up with this hatred for To Kill a Mockingbird? I love To Kill a Mockingbird.
