Subject: The thing you just DON'T UNDERSTAND

I'm talking about people not from America. You guys just think that outlawing guns would solve everything, but you have much different cultures, people, everything. It might've worked for you but it doesn't for us. We have such a different community than you do, so it's hard to understand that outlawing guns wouldn't do anything.

It's the same thing with Alcohol and Drugs. We have tried outlawing alcohol, crime rose up, alcohol stayed the same. Same with drugs. Drugs are outlawed, so explain to me why there are around 12 million people using drugs within the past month?

Also, look at this. Columbine happened in 1999. On the wiki page of the massacre it states that they broke two gun laws, the National Firearms Act and the Gun Control Act of 1968. They also broke the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Assault_Weapons_Ban]Fede ral Assault Weapons Ban[/url] which bans Assault Weapons. As you can see these bans did NOTHING to stop Columbine, one of the worst school shootings in America.

The problem is mental illnesses. But how can you prevent that? You can't. You can't just look at a kid and say, he's going to kill people tomorrow at school, lets get him mental help. The problem is that these people don't seem any different then most socially awkward people. It's not until they actually do something that there's any differences. There's kids at my school who look up to Hitler, who want to kill people, I have my feelings that they might one day do something like this, but I can't say for certain other than it's something in my lizard brain setting something about these people off. I have no proof other than they're a little off their rockers.

Bans in general do nothing in a culture like America. In fact, from what history has told us, bans actually raise crime. What makes you think this is any different? Just cause guns are involved? Guns might harm people but they also save other people's lives. I know one person who is alive because his father pulled a gun on a robber, and fired. That robber had a weapon as well and had all intents on harming someone. If guns were banned, then the law abiding citizen, A.K.A 99% of the gun owning population, would be screwed over, having to deal with the robber, not a law abiding citizen who was actually found to be in possession of a stolen weapon, with nothing to defend themselves with. Bans don't work. Take this website for example, has a ban ever stopped others? No, they make alts.

Then how do you explain the exponentially lower firearm murder rates in comparable Western democracies with gun bans?

Keeping weapons for self defense is a double edged source. You can protect yourself, but it also makes it possible to steal it from someone and use it to kill. Guns need to be toned down as in no semi-automatic weapons. No semi-automatic pistols (I think that's what one of the guns in the shooting was.) It's our society we need to change, music is filled with terrible values. Don't blame video games. Because I don't play BO2 and decide to murder a bunch of people with a pistol.

Gun don't kill people. They help to kill people.

A firearms ban would likely work on future generations growing up without the reality and attachment to firearms, but I doubt it would on the current generations who insist on the right to defend themselves.

However, a gun is the easiest outlet to kill - you can't go on a stabbing rampage or vehicular rampage as easily as you can with an assault rifle.

If a person was really determined to murder someone - they could probably obtain firearms from underground or build explosives if they were resourceful enough - but I don't think that the majority of petty gun crimes take place after months and months of planning - they are most likely taken in the heat of the moment - by depriving these people of an easy means of killing someone else, we are likely to see a reduction in crime.

I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

Notice one thing, they had security. That is the issue sadly. Whereas most high schools have security the lower levels do not. I suppose it was never a concern, but there is no real deterrent and the result is well...

If guns get banned because of killings, I want knives, hammers, cars, or anything that can kill a person banned. Even without those I can kill a man.

A gun ban makes no sense.

Operative phrase is 'as easily.' I might be wrong, but I doubt that your average crazy joe possesses the insane knife skills required to injure twenty two students while fending off security guards.

Oh yeeh, just make a dismissive insult without any explanation or reasoning behind it. You totes know how to argue.

And I disproved his point that I quoted, as in its just as easy for a knife wielding maniac to go on a rampage as it is for a gun wielding maniac, in fact its easier because knives are easier to come by. Yes, he only injured the kids, but maybe he wasn't feeling up to his crazy self that day. If he sliced off ears and fingers, he could just as easily have stabbed them in the chest and killed them.
