We all wear masks and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing our own skin.

No, duh.

  • 12.16.2012 9:08 PM PDT

No.

But having more school officers could help.

And maybe have the principal and vice principals or AD allow to carry. but not teachers.

  • 12.16.2012 9:08 PM PDT

I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but there is already a topic on this, and you are the first comment in it.

..So why is it a bad idea?

  • 12.16.2012 9:08 PM PDT

Break the windowsill

Teachers shouldn't have guns, however I've heard of plenty of schools with armed guards

  • 12.16.2012 9:08 PM PDT

So to solve the problem of people bringing guns to schools, it is proposed that we keep guns in schools?

  • 12.16.2012 9:09 PM PDT

Steam: Daft
Xbox: DaftMauS

Yes, but they should only be allowed one after a certain amount of time teaching the same class(es).

Sometimes I am tempted to quit gaming. I can no longer play without seeing ponyphags, horrendously bad teammates and mexicans.

Gaming community, I want you to know that you suck.

Maceo are you cereal right now

There is a vague topic on this general subject, however that topic could well include highering mercenaries by increasing the price of school lunch, trap doors and indiana jones style traps.

This topic is specific.

Please do not send me group invites.

Jesus, for the last time:

Let's not forget that a certain group of people think that teachers are already paid too much, and class sizes are too small, and school days are too short.

Do you really think being underpaid, with a class overcrowded with uncontrollable children, for hours on end, is the right person to give a gun to?

The no fire arms sign on the window is not going to stop someone about to slaughter school children.

  • 12.16.2012 9:10 PM PDT

I agree if its locked up. Can't have an aggressive student getting a hold of it.

It might be knowing the two people in the next rooms also have a gun.

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

And neither is a teacher with a gun.

Like you people always say, if they want to shoot up a school they're going to find a way how to.

All I see is that you decided to make a useless thread that you made a poll in order to discuss a topic that was being discussed in the last thread. You're a dirty topic stealer Makko.

Um... what.

Yes they will.

Shooters almost always kill themselves/give up when met with actual resistance.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

-Me

One part of me says yes and one part of me says no.

While I think that more murders would be deterred if they knew once they entered the classroom they would be shot, I also think that a teacher could just snap one day and kill the kids.

maybe if they are locked away and only if a button is hit in the front office can the firearm be obtained. I think something like this should be implemented

Okay, I'm sorry I didn't want to totally hi jack that thread for one very specific part of a very vague topic.

No simply because a lot of teachers are incompetent even at their job. Then to act like they can handle a firearm is a ridiculous idea in itself especially since some are old and others are young and inexperienced. Giving them a firearm is just asking for a kid to get shot by a teacher. Considering how schools try their best to avoid a lawsuit this idea of yours OP will never happen due to it is too much of a liability and there are tons of parents that would be against it.

Well they better keep it in a safe with a combination lock, pad lock, as well as a key code lock.

Assuming they had to take a specially designed class, and the gun was kept in a safe, hell the safe could only be unlockable by the emergency drill signal or whatever. Bam, no teachers going on rampages, no kids stealing the gun.
