So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Well then I'm glad we're not in World War III. That wouldn't end well.

Agreed. It's starting to really turn out that way.

This world is going to hell.
I'm not trying to be insensitive to the many who lose their lives to violence on a daily basis - especially not those in the recent days. But honestly things have been a lot worse in the past for us as a species.
Things aren't getting worse. They have actually drastically improved over the past few centuries.
It's a tragedy that people are losing their lives needlessly. Especially those in the Sandy Hook shooting where the victims were too young to even fully understand morality.
But even with all of this going on and the doomsday prophecies going on I'm still very optimistic about the species. 99% of people do not live their lives in absolute fear it may be their last day on earth and the same cannot be said for people who lived in years prior. Whether it be the Cold War, the Bubonic Plague, World War II, World War I, famine, any war for that matter, the Great Depression...
I didn't even scratch the surface. We have it good these days and many people tend to see things through the eyes of today. The past really can teach a person how to live. And I'm not even a historian or majoring in history!
