Subject: The hobbit was disappointing

Fair play

Tolkien wrote The Hobbit for his kids. I was hoping that Jackson would make it more mature, but it ended up being too amateur for my taste. It was also too light for the standard that LOTR established.

So you wanted it to be as grimdark as LOTR? Too bad because The Hobbit is not about that, its about the growth of Bilbo as a character by way of the journey to Erebor. Also people need to stop using words they don't know the meaning to, in this case "amateur".

I thought it was pretty good actually. I would have liked to see it follow the book a little more precise, but it felt likte the actual start of another journey and I'm pretty excited about the next part.

Follow the book more how exactly? I ask because there is a logical reason for 98.9% of changes.

Well only the small things, it's more of an autistic tic of mine. I was preparing myself for small details happening in the book while recognizing scenes in the movie, but then they didn't happen. Overall the movie was great in my opinion I'd 8/10 it easily.

Most of the little things would look retarded on the big screen. Talking Eagles/Wargs/Purses would not make any sense.

Well yes, but they did make the trolls talk. Also I was preparing to laugh at the talking purse the entire time I was wondering how they'd make it look.
