The Dark Knight Rises

Octavia is best pony.

I'm reserving judgement until Les Miserables comes out, as it looks fantastic. But as of yet, my favorite film this year was Argo.

Everything you know is wrong.

Lincoln.

The Dark Knight Rises.

This easily.

  • 12.17.2012 7:39 AM PDT

The Hobbit.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

I haven't seen The Hobbit yet. But thus far, probably Skyfall.

It's been a damn good year for sequels, though: The Avengers and TDKR were both fantastic, and MiB3 and Prometheus were both great. Chronicle was awesome too.

I guess I'll take the easy way out and say Hobbit @ 48FPS in 3D.

It was really an awesome experience seeing that level of quality in a movie theater.

He threw down a glove you made the mistake
Of picking it up now you're gone
The choosing of guns or fighting with swords
The choice of weapons is done
He'll tear you apart as soon as you start
You know you don't have a chance.

Pretty much this. Hobbit @ 48FPS in 3D is boss.

I'm really surprised nobody's said Looper, I thought it was fantastic. Visually it was great, the acting was very good, I liked the concept and the fact that it was character focused (in contrast other shallow sci-fi films this year like Prometheus).

Also, The Dark Knight Rises was very good.

  • 12.17.2012 8:59 AM PDT

I'm gonna go with Prometheus. The Hobbit was brilliant too though.

Surprised this isn't up higher.

I'm your biggest fan!

There were a lot of disappointments in film this year. TDKR, MiB 3, Prometheus, Taken 2. All of these should have been better. I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting as well.

Despite that, The Avengers and Skyfall were both fantastic, and I'm still yet to see The Hobbit (which I've heard is also a bit of a disappointment), Django Unchained and Les Mis (though I'm not sure if that comes out this year or not).

Overall, I'm going to have to give it to The Avengers. Though I still need to see the films listed above and I also never got round to seeing Argo or Seven Psychopaths.
