I don't even know if the ATI GPU on the Xbox 360 supports the DirectX 10 shader API.

DirectX 10 cards haven't been released yet so I don't think a 7 month old console would have it.

I think the 360 runs off of a heavily modified DX10. I don't know.

they can update the console with directx10 software which will look better but not be as good if it was on the graphics card if this comes in a dashupdate i hope they have a better instal screen cause it will take ages to instal i have directx10 on vista beta 2 on this pc looks better then directx9 stuff my graphics cards hardware is directx9 so its posible but it all depends on if the 360 is able to upgrade its directx vershion and if it does likely it will be stored on the hdd and most games will require a hdd then

You don't have DirectX 10 on the Vista beta. DirectX 10 won't even be available until there are cards on the market that take advantage of it.

All you need to run the Vista Aero UI is a DirectX 9 card and up.

it uses 9.0c, but just like driver patches, microsoft can just release a software update and hey presto dx10 glory!

you all are forgetting who you are talking about here. It's Microsoft, not some simple low-life software company. If Microsoft says the 360 can, they will make it happen. Thank god.
