Halo 4 just took itself too seriously. Bungie didn't do that. They made sure that it felt like an adventure. 343i was trying way too hard to be canonically correct when making the game, and in doing so took it all too seriously.

Black Ops 2, in comparison, still managed to deliver the craziness of the Cold War era plots and intrigue, while still staying somewhat artistic and oddly light with it. It seemed like an action movie, ready for a summer release.

Both were pretty good games. I will play both again and again. But, considering the two were competitors on release, one had to win. For me, this goes to Treyarch.

Spoilers: The after credits scene of Black Ops 2 as proof Treyarch didn't take this too seriously

I still liked Halo 4 more.

The primary reason I disagree is the repetitive rehashed gameplay of the Call of Duty franchise.

Treyarch > 343

It's been that way since 343's conception.

Hot topic incoming, the fire rises.

Also, of course 343 took it more seriously. It was their first game and they had a lot of pressure on them to make a good game. Treyarch didn't need to take it seriously at all, since the game would make billions anyway.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

I agree and I hate the Black Ops series. But I'm not bias enough for it to get in the way of what game is actually better.

Yeah Halo 4 was good and Black Ops 2 was amazing for me but Halo's campaign was better. Treyarch have made the only decent Call of Duty games in recent memory.

Love your friends, Die laughing.

I don't enjoy the CoD gameplay, I just can't stand it.

But having played Halo 4, I wouldn't be surprised if OP's statement is true.

I haven't played Black OPS 2 yet, but I agree with you. But I did play the fist one and I still find that batter than Halo 4.

Anyway?

Different from Halo 4, Black Ops 2 didn't come broken and full of glitches.

Didn't play Black Ops 2, but it wouldn't surprise me if it had a better single-player than Halo 4.

I think Halo suffered from very poor pacing and mediocre level design. It felt like a chore to play for like the last two hours, and I honestly didn't have any fun during that time. Thought it was kind of a let-down considering the actual gameplay was pretty good.

Didn't play Halo's multiplayer so I'm not gonna judge that.

And it's a full game to. Unlike Halo 4 you can rank up to all the levels.

Hey there!

I think they are both great games!

lol well, to be honest, in terms of campaign the first one didn't make much on an impression on me. I mean, yeah the story made enough sense and it had tons of action, but all of that epic feeling was numbed down because at the end of the day you were preventing something bad from happening, which was the releease of the Nova 6 gas, whereas in other CoDs there were wars going on in front of your eyes.

I did enjoy the Campaign, but to be honest I don't feel like replaying it, which is a shame since the multiplayer is flawless and has one of the highest replayabilities. At least for me.

Man, I just really like BO.

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

LOL. Not a fan of the CoD series but this I wouldn't doubt. BlOps II probably won on the non-seriousness level. Halo 4 just sucks major.

I agree Charlie.

Halo 2 was like that when it first shipped, but you don't see people remembering that. Jump off the hate bandwagon and come back to reality.

Butt ugly ape” remarked Sergeant Johnson always making fun out of the situation even though he had been hit by a spiker round in the arm. He mustered up the strength to continue and the team moved on. The Arbiter informed him that the next room held The Prophet of Truth and this was the final room before extraction. Jun proposed that he takes a shot from a distance the prophet and they all head back to the ship bay for extraction. The team agreed on this and breached the last door…

Not at all.

I can tell you haven't played it. Seriously, as a story, its pretty good. Whoever wrote the dialog sucked big time, but the story itself was pretty good.

My DeviantArt Gallery - For my Photoshop stuff, go have a look!

I really, really don't see what people like about the main gameplay of Call of Duty. Although I was much more impressed by the campaign of Call of Duty, despite its cheesy moments.

I feel like they fixed a lot of problems in multiplayer while still adding a bunch of cool features like the streaming. It's less dominated by killstreaks and less deaths by claymores, mines etc.

But it just seems so much more 'campy' and laggy compared to the other CoDs.
