For those who just want my opinion:
I actually prefer Halo 4 Over Black Ops 2.
For those who care enough to want to know why:
The only COD games I ever really enjoyed was WAW and the first MW. I barely played the newest one other than slay a few zombies with some friends. However, despite that, I was rather disappointed with the fact that pretty much every COD game I've played since MW1 had the same feel to them in terms of game play. Not to get me wrong, I quite enjoyed the story of the game as well as their zombie apocalypse side story. But each game just felt like copy of the other, except for some new items, perks, and story.
However, that isn't to say Halo didn't suffer from a similar affect. At least from Halo 3 to Reach this was the case (though, Reach did bring in a slightly new feel) Halo 4 however, gave of the feel of an entirely new game. It still felt like Halo, but it felt new and different from its predecessors. Now the transition of ownership to the franchise was probably the major contributor to that feel, but honestly, I feel like, in a sense, it revived the game. The style is different, the graphics are enhanced, and the game play is changed moderately through changes with the 'load out' concept and Specializations as well as new guns, perks, and armor abilities (all of which were made to fit the certain strategies of players. Or in other words, your going to find some that you like, and some that you hate. It's natural). Plus, I believe 343 did a fantastic job continuing the story from where it left off in Halo 3. I won't give any spoilers, but I personally believe that the way 343 went about adding an entirely new prospective to the story just blew me away.
On a side note, I'm also very pleased with the way they went about leveling up, credit dispersement, and item unlocking for character and strategy personalization. It felt very fair and well balanced.
There is so much more I could go on about, but if you just read through that much, I just want to say I appreciate you, and you are awesome.
