Subject: The Difference of One Weekend

I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

I'm sure I don't need to remind you all what happened Friday. That is not however the direct topic of this thread, but more on something that occurred today and how different it was from normal.

Today at me school we were put into white alert, a medical emergency. Now this would not be a problem on most days, just stay in class and keep out of the halls. Today was different. everyone got silent when they started the announcement and stayed silent as my teacher went to lock the door. It was about a minute before they clarified this was for a medical emergency and nothing else. Everyone was on edge, I'm assuming the teachers were told to lock their doors, as I saw a large number unlocking them as we moved to next period.

It's amazing all the change that one weekend caused, that now something that would normally just pass by is looked at with horror. When I left today for early leave whereas before people would hold doors open for people coming in, now they were let to shut and a look of understanding given.

The topic of this thread then is to discuss anything you felt was different in your school or work place today. Was it different Flood? Did anyone else get put on a lockdown today?

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Finals are over so today was a sit at home and do nothing kind of day. Still, the after-tragedy feel is definitely prevalent anywhere one goes.

I know what you mean. It was weird. Everyone was like a ghost, people tried to act normal, but it was a lot quieter today. Much more sullen to say the least.

I'm sick, but went in anyway as it's the easiest week of the year. What do I get?

I'd imagine it's much worse in Connecticut. I live in Colorado and after the Aurora movie theater shooting the state was terribly quiet. Talking about Dark Knight Rises was met with that look of 'yeah, good movie, damn shame what happened.'

It's just so weird seeing a classroom go silent like that. I know it doesn't seem like much to some of you, but I have never seen a teacher more on edge.

It was then that I decided he really is like semen(everywhere) and I gave up on life.

I don't go to school but my daughter does. There's nothing out of ordinary going on there for her school has already been a very secure school.
I definitely wouldn't blame schools or work places for putting more preventative ways into place now though it should already be that way.

Wait, lockdown for medical emergency? What happens for a lockdown to be needed?

We just silently have someone sent away in a medical emergency.

They need the hallways clear and all. It was a girl who fainted, so they needed to get her to the nurse, which would be a challenge with 2000 people trying to walk around.

Always happens. Same thing happened around the US when Columbine occurred.
