No, it doesn't. We can't be in relationships with non-humans as there are no other known beings intelligent and emotionally complex enough to be in a relationship. What bored Welsh farmers get up to with their sheep does not constitute a relationship.
If you count anything with a greater genetic distance from humans than a -blam!- Erectus as a different species, yes it does.
Having sex =/= being in a relationship.
I didn't say only sex. If you consider a -blam!- Erectus a different species than humans, then it is happening right now. If not, then it does not.
HE is extinct. That some people may share some percentage of genetic material with it doesn't make them that species.
