Subject: What's your 2012 GOTY?

+1 for you good sir.

Honestly, I haven't played enough games to throw a name up there, but i'd like to hear some of yours.

Dishonored.

Skyrim

Probably Borderlands 2 or Mass Effect 3

I haven't played many games that were released this year, but from the ones I have played it would be either Borderlands 2 or Assassin's Creed 3.

  • 12.17.2012 1:16 PM PDT

Battlefield BadCompany 2.

Far Cry 3.

From what I've played I'd say Borderlands 2. I love that game.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Is it me or are games getting shorter?

Borderlands 2 lasted a week, Dishonoured lasted 3 days and Far Cry 3 lasted one day.

Supreme Dictator, Industrial Polluter, Megalomaniac, Corrupt Politician, Underhanded Reprobate, Rainforest Ravager, Puppy Kicker, Oil Spill Coordinator, Holiday Hater, and an Insurance Salesman.

In all seriousness, Mass Effect 3.

  • 12.17.2012 1:18 PM PDT

1. Half-Life 2
2. Mass Effect 3
3. Mass Effect 2
4. Tie between Halo 3 and CoD4
5. Medal of Honor or Spec Ops: The Line

"You can be larger than life. But you can't be larger than death."

Spec Ops: The Line
An unbelievably haunting and depressing game that simply eviscerates our cultures view on violence and entertainment.
Runners Up:
Far Cry 3
Also haunting, depressing, and memorable. Best villian I've seen in a long time.
The Walking Dead
Like the other two, it is haunting, depressing, and makes you wonder if you could've done something different. (Anyone noticing a pattern?)
Mass Effect 3
Great final part of a trilogy. I liked the ending even though most people didn't.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

At the moment, Halo 4. However I have yet to play Dishonored. It would be Skyrim if the game didn't have game breaking glitches in it from time to time.

Nahman Jayden, Eff bee eye. I herd that you're the origammy killah...

Far Cry 3

I'm sure the games are getting shorter. I don't play my games too long because I always beat them in less than a week. Except for The Withcer 2, that took me a little over a week to beat.

The Secret Society 95% of activity is me, I could use some help.

McPixel, the only fun game I've played this year.

Mass Effect 3.

Seriously. I've played this more than any other this year.

Los Paranoias

Borderlands 2, but Dishonored is close behind it. I get Black Ops 2 tomorrow, that might win.

Even though it's short, I'd have to say Journey. There have been other good games this year, but Journey strives to use the video game medium in ways that could finally bring video games into the fine arts.

I'll have to give this one to Borderlands 2. If Spec Ops: The Line were more fun to play without sacrificing its storytelling, it would win, no contest.

Definitely. The gameplay wasn't much different than other third person shooters, but the story was fantastic; a great departure from other shooters.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

Perspective.

Only 2012 game I've actually played.

I don't know. I've never been able to get immersed in Bethesda's games because of how poorly they handle dialogue and decisions.

Halo 4 or Trials Evolution.
