Hey flood, I need help with physics.

I need to rearrange the Doppler effect fo=fs(v/v+vs) so that vs is the subject of the equation. Cheers to whoever helps me.

My honor student can beat up your honor student.

vs=(fo/fs)-v/v

You're welcome. But I think you may have the wrong equation (or are using an extremely simplified version of the Doppler Equation).

fo(v+vs)=fs(v)

v+vs=fs(v)/fo

vs=(fs(v)/fo)-v

?

Ah, the internet. Where men are men, women are men, and children are the FBI.

Its probably vs = (fsv - fov)/fo

Assuming that your equation is properly parenthesized (the v/v is suspicious), then divide by fs, then subtract v/v.

Im assuming it is supposed to be

fo=fs*(v/(v+vs))

Bit more clarity there.

Probably. I tried searching on the internet but all the variations of the doppler effect seem to be more complicated, or at least different.

Thanks to everyone.

1) Replace all quantities in the equation with single letters.
2) Put the equation into http://www.wolframalpha.com.
3) Add "make X the subject of the equation" to the end.
4) Fin.

Or, of course, you could put a bit of effort in and learn absic algebra. Your call.
