Subject: A question about 'The Hobbit'...*OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS*

When they all get captured by those...'things' underground and there is a giant one with a crown. Gandalf eventually kills him in quite a comical fasion.

Here's the questions:

Are they Goblins? I assumed they were Goblins because they were smaller and weaker than orcs, but the sword lit up before Golem killed the 'thing', and when he killed it the sword went out. I thought it only lit up around orcs.

What was the giant guy? Was he just some sort of big Goblin?

Wake me, when you need me.

Yes, they are goblins.

On the Left

Godshatter: I can go all the way with someone without being attracted to them.
CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

I thought it only lit up when he was in danger?

Si hoc legere scis, nimis eruditionis habes

They were goblins, and the sword lights up around both orcs and goblins.

I wouldn't say it was a "comical fashion". Absolutely loved the movie, but the Great Goblin's final quote was not something I enjoyed.

I respectfully disagree

In The Hobbit, Tolkien calls them Goblins. In The Fellowship, in the Concerning Hobbits part, he briefly recounts the events of The Hobbit, and calls them Orcs.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

What this guy said.

Also, I thought it was kind of funny how Sting flickered before going out. That was not how I imagined it would work.
