I'm not. I just think there are many things they could improve upon. So hearing some of the more ignorant citizens going on about how they are the greatest country is more amusing than anything else.
Granted I also think there are many things that we could improve upon in Canada as well.
Because America is though, You're just playing second fiddle. Before when people would say stuff I would just sort of humble myself and agree that America wasn't the best, but now I just don't give a -blam!- anymore. The truth is America is the best and probably the only one that even comes close to second would be Great Britain.
+Military strength
+Democratic Republic
+Capitalism(face it, it works)
+Huge Country
+Vaste Resources some not yet recovered(oil in Alaska)
+More freedoms than most countries
Actually when it comes to most western countries your level of freedom is actually about average. There is not equality under the law for all citizens at this time. Which is something to work on.
You aren't the only Capitalist country. The ones that use a mix of Capitalism and Socialism seem to be doing much better than you lately as well. Pure Capitalism and Pure Socialism don't work. A mix is best and finding the right mix can be very tricky.
Russia and Canada are bigger.
Canada has vast resources as well. We are the largest supplier of oil, trees, nuclear material and several other things to the U.S..
I'll give you Military Strength, but when you spend more than the next 20-something countries combined, almost all of which are allies, then it seems a little redundant to me.
There are other countries that have much better education, longer lifespans, more healthy years during that lifespan, better quality of life, less crime, better employment numbers, etc.
That's when you start to realize there are things that need to be worked on. America is number one in military spending. That's really about it. As I also said, I think there are many things that need to be improved upon in Canada, where I live, as well.I agree with this post, so many things right here, and this is coming from a die-hard American. Hell, the joke with my Canadian friends is that when I was a baby, the doctors put an American flag and a copy of our Constitution in a blender, blended it and then fed it to me. But Im not saying America is without its faults. Far from it, but we do have a good thing going for us and aside from a couple of things I would change, I would leave most of the country alone.
