1. The only country that outdoes us in CO2 emissions is China. Fun facts: The oceans have risen a couple inches and as a result several places, including New York, have had more flooding issues lately. As a result of the ocean's temperatures rising hurricanes have gotten worse and contributed to Sandy.
2. We bomb and kill people's children. And we wonder why in the world our country isn't more popular.
3. Guantanamo Bay. Pretty much sums up our thoughts on human rights.
4. The US is the only country where someone can die without health care and we rank 50th worldwide with life expectancy.
We got -blam!- that needs sorting out.
Again, you point out generic issues that have been around forever and ignore the fact that we still do considerably better than most parts of the world in regards your fourth statement. Socialized healthcare is the dumbest idea economically because you'll degrade the entire system by draining resources. You get an influx of patients with the already scarce amount of doctors we already have and you end up with a shortage. To compensate, they'll probably import or lower the qualifications of healthcare professions, further more degrading the system to make sure the shortage is balanced out, then you get the raise in taxes, probably higher injury rates, and a huge waitlist for basic medical needs.
And you seriously think civilian causalities is avoidable in urban conflict? They know they'll hit a few civilians when you drop a scatter bomb, it's not like they want to. It's just a byproduct. War is war, get over it.
And right, we should allow suspected terrorist to have the same rights as American citizens. It's perfectly logical to give them the rights we grant our society when they hate our society. Gbay is necessary for intel and detention. 1. Socialized health care isn't the greatest option but this system sucks ass. Especially for people with chronic illnesses.
2. They aren't avoidable. But we're targetting their kids because they might be terrorists. We bomb people "just in case". It's disgusting.
3. Sure why not give them the rights we grant anyone else in custody in the US. If there's plenty of evidence against terrorists in court then they'll go to jail. By the way we've locked up hundreds of innocent people and tortured them there. Who wouldn't be surprised if they despised us. It isn't necessary since torture is pretty much useless and won't give you what a properly done interrogation can. We don't even really know how many innocent people are still being held in there. Considering how terrible a job we did I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the people there were innocent. If you offer rewards to poor tribes in the desert who burn -blam!- to stay alive it shouldn't very surprising if there are a lot of innocent people there.
