Subject: Thinking of getting a tattoo.

Tats should only be something that you have loved for such a long time that you know you will never grow out of it. A game-based tat at the age of 18 is a terrible, terrible idea.

I disagree with this. My tattoo is game-based, yet holds personal meaning to me. I don't regret it a bit.

Apparently, to the OP, Halo 2 also holds some personal meaning, as he noted in his earlier post. If it holds enough meaning that he wants to get a tattoo of it, he is unlikely to ever regret it.

Alt account #4 because i can!

I'm getting this on my left bicep and this on the other

I'm 18 by the way.

The significance: The Cobra logo is the brand of car that my idol, Carroll Shelby, founded. I aspire to do my work like him and become one of the best in the automotive industry.

as for the Broncos logo, ive been a Denver Fan through thick and thin. (Loving this season for sure!)

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

I can't look at the first picture but I know what it is and as a Bucs fan I must say Denver destroyed us this year

How old were you when you got your tattoo and how long had you been a fan of Halo for? There's a huge difference if you got yours at a later age. Most people I know at university who are in their 20s wouldn't dream of getting a game-based tattoo because they're growing out of it. I too, considered getting the lightning fist as a tat, but as I've grown older, I've wised up and realised it's a bad idea, because I will likely stop playing games when I am older.

For example, I have a friend my age who, two years ago, got a tattoo of the Tottenham logo on his calf. He's regretted it for the last 18 months.

Don't take any suggestions from anybody. Seriously.

Get something timeless. The mark of shame is not timeless.

Don't get a tattoo just to get a tattoo. Get a tattoo because you want something special to you embedded in your skin.

If your favorite symbol from a video game that came out a few years ago is really that special to you, you should consider avoiding a tattoo.

Plus it isn't something that is associated with Halo. At first look, someone wouldn't really know, its basically a symbol.

For now. Think, in two years' time you might not give two damns about it, because something else might have overtaken it in sentimental value. How would you feel knowing you were stuck with it for the rest of your life, getting it at just 18? Sure you can get it removed, but you have no idea how painful the process is.

This. My friend got a game based tattoo last week. Its the Triforce with the Master Sword through the center. But he got it, because he grew up in an abusive household. and whenever his dad would hurt him, he'd lock himself away and play Ocarina of Time to forget the bad things.
