Subject: Just got 2x 8GB RAM sticks

"Before you insult someone, try walking a mile in their shoes. This way, when you insult them, you are a mile away and have their shoes."

All the RAM will do in simple terms is allow you to stably run more things at once. Some games, like BF3, take advantage of this. Most games do not.

I've got a PC with 64 gigs of Ram (what, when I built it, I had a buy one get one free promotion x4), and it barely helps. Go for a GPU/PROCESSOR instead if you want serious increased performance.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

Can you take the RAM back?

My laptop has 16 RAMs.

OT: Do you even lift?

Doesn't Windows 7 support up to 16 GB of RAM?

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

If you want your games to load faster then get an SSD. It's worth the money if you ask me.

RAM will only allow you to do more things at the same time. For example you can have more programs running in the background. More RAM will not necessarily improve your games. The Xbox 360 only has 512 MB RAM.

Ram can vastly improve your frame-rate, if you do not have enough for the tasks you're trying to play.

If you do have enough already, adding more will do nothing.

If I have more RAM, will it just allow games to load/run faster or will it allow me to also boost the graphics capabilities slightly more without performance drop?

Answer C - None of the above?

New games only use up to 4GB RAM, older games use less.

You may actually notice a dip in performance, as your PC will read the RAM you are actually using, along with all of the unused RAM you have too.

Why / who told you buying more RAM would be better for you?
