Subject: Headphones

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

Several years ago, I saved up a lot of money and bought myself a pair of Bose headphones. They've been amazing and easily the best pair of headphones I have ever used.
Unfortunately, they have begun to fall apart after years of use, and I need a new pair.

My current headphones are an older version of these. I'm tempted to buy them again, but I wanted some suggestions from the flood.

So, suggestions for headphones? NOT for gaming, just for listening to music.

Do you use them for gaming, music, or both?

x12s can only be used for gaming. I have tried them with music and they're god awful.

They don't think it be like it is...

But it do.

Check out Sennheiser. They're high quality like Bose and have a wide range of headphones. I can also suggest the Steelseries Siberia V2 iPod edition or whatever. All the iPod edition means is that they went from a headset to headphones.

Stop buying Bose, they are bad and overpriced.

If you want the best, you buy Sennheiser or Grados.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50s are the best headphones you'd ever use. The ATH-M30s, for slightly less money, are fantastic, too.

If I haven't fired you yet, it's because I'm still firing your mom in bed.

Sennheiser is the way to go. I have the HD518s, which are classified as "entry level audiophile" circumaural headphones. New they're $130, but on Amazon you can find them for $80-100. Got mine for $90, including shipping and handling and even though they're "used", the box was sealed perfectly like it had never been opened.

Indeed, I own the HD 25, HD 280, and the HD 598. For exercise, I wear the CX 680i also by Sennheiser. Amazing brand that I have never had issues with. Headphones make me a happy camper.

Sennheiser is quite fantastic. I have a pair of HD 280's and I'm quite a fan of them.

They aren't the best, but they are definitely the best for $100.

OP get a set of Audio Technica AD-700s, they're absolutely remarkable. Bass isn't terribly strong, but it has an extremely impressive sound stage and quality. Plus, it's extremely light and comfortable. I always forget I'm wearing them, even while listening to music. Easily the best purchase I've made in years, I can't recommend them enough.

First things first OP. What's your budget? Do you like a balanced, even sound, or a more excited sound? Are you a bass head? What kind of music do you listen too?

Edit: fixed typos.

Stop arguing over imaginary -blam!-. May as well argue over Santa Claus. There will never be proof that there is/was a god - and before people start saying "HERP DERP PROVE THERE WASN'T ONE ROFLOLOL" well, you are the people who made it up in the first place so we know there isn't one
What created the big bang then? A coalition of genetically modified TR-909s with extra distortion?

What's your budget?
Would you be willing to buy an amplifier?
What kind of music do you listen to?
Is isolation a must?

I have a pair of Jaybird Sportsbands as I only use headphones at the gym and I can't think of any better headphones for the job.

They're bluetooth, light weight and have great sound quality.
