I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

It's a simple enough question. How on Earth did we go from this and this to the final result of the game.

It was all repetitive button pressing with uninspired characters. The seeds for a great story were there, and you can see that in some of the cutscenese. It feels as if it was perhaps cut down, something is just off. So what do you think Flood? What happened in the development process that gave us well Halo Reach?

Actually that probably is the root of the problem.

I think those cutscenes are fairly reflective of the final product.

The ones I linked? Eh like I said, canon errors aside it just felt a little lacking compared to past games.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Microsoft happened.

Pretty much. It is pretty evident since in Halo 4 you have to press a whole lot of buttons.

  • 12.17.2012 10:18 PM PDT

It is possible to commit no errors and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.

Cheeto is the only one among you that doesn't suck.

Bungie rushed it out the door, since they had to complete that to get out of the Halo franchise.

The game started off decently, but you can tell when they really started to just rush through things, starting right after Jorge dies.

Actually exactly what I was thinking, it really started off as a great game. I remember the death of space squirrel as they needed to push the game out the door.

I would agree that the first trailer had a certain feel of terror about it that the game did not quite capture.

However, I will say hat I think Bungie did a great job with Reach as a spinoff to the main series.

Edit: I will also say that I think Halo 3: ODST's campaign worked better as a spinoff and fit in better with the main series. ODST also had better character development and a darker feel. Something that Reach tried but failed to accomplish.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

Oh... you know... moniez.

It's too bad, too. Those cutscenes fell in line with the canon set by the original trilogy of books. Looking back I feel teased. They told us they were doing Reach. I thought we were doing the original story of Reach. They showed us what appeared to be the original story of Reach, and then surpalize!! - we get something totally different.

Reach's campaign was great.

  • 12.17.2012 10:29 PM PDT

The covenant weren't discovered on Reach until halfway through the first mission and the second video was part of the prologue and also the battle where thom died was on Fumirole, NOT Reach so you can't get me there.

Reach's campaign was great.

I disagree, it was very lackluster, the only good missions where LNoS and PoA. And with a ton of potential lost, for example: Tip of the Spear could have been an awesome setting for an epic fight against scarabs, wraiths, ghosts and making them retreat to the Spires; but instead we just got to see the battle from far away and play a mediocre level.

For the love of god let it go. If you don't like the game then shut the -blam!- up about it. Jesus christ

Halo 3's campaign was worse than Reach's, I don't see the point.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Well Bungie had a way to make Halo: Reach be a non-canon account of the canonical battle. 343i just decided to make it all canon.
