In response to the title, YES!
Bungie did a great job making the Elites seem more beastial in Halo 2 than 1 (just look at their posture & the way they move) & I'm sure they can top it off for Halo 3.

As for whoever said the Engineers are the only Covenant race that can think creatively, think again.
In the level Oracle, the heretic leader went through a door and then sealed it. All the Elites thought that the Heretic leader would escape, but the Arbiter comes up with the idea of cutting the cable. That's Elite mental skillz.
Who would've thought of that? Huh? Anybody?

i agree with you. the elites probably had limeted technology before they found the forerunner technology. so they should have animal insticts. like charging,

That has to be the most uninformed statement I've ever read in my life...Wow.

Judging from the spelling and grammar skills of half the idiotic post, I think amoeba are more advanced than you people. The Elitest are a race of highly evolved warriors. They are like the samurai of the Covenant. Do you think the ancient Samurai were animals? You're an idiot.

Not so. Samurai=human, human=primate, primate=animal. You've defeated your own purpose. Sorry, I just felt like letting that out.

As far as intellegience, Elites are almost matched with humans. Being more aggressive and not do suicide runs into a pack of Brutes, yes. Otherwise, leave "animalistic" to the Brutes...

I don't agree that we are smarter than Elites.

Elites... like Samurai... *cringe*

That's the worst thing I've heard all day.

Just because someone is intelligent doesn't make them honorable and courteous. I want them vicious, antaganistic, howling and totally ALIEN. They're too human now. A pathetic excuse to generate fanboy response.

For example, I bring you another alien race that has suffered in the same way the Elites from Halo are starting to suffer:

This happened to the Klingons in Star Trek. The moment the Klingons became popular they re-wrote their entire culture to make them more like Samurai. Tthe Klingons originally were backstabbing, cunning, vicious creatures with wild eyes and a heart full of unbridled passion. You'll also note that in TNG they don't bother mention that the Klingon Empire is a SLAVE empire and that they routinely perform acts of GENOCIDE to ensure the continuance of their power.

elites should be more civilised and noble warriors like the old samurais, less hack and slash and more graceful, maybe have them speak less human but dont make them animals thats what the brute's for

Not what i was saying. Read the -blam!- books. The covenant are not INNOVATIVE. They cant think of their own technology. This makes them DUMB. The engineers are the ones that find and understand the technology as well as fix it. EX. The covenant started making AI's molded after our AI's. another ex. Cortana used the ship to jump across slipspace when inside a planet's atmosphere. Then the covenant stole the idea and it worked. So who cares if the Heretic guy can shut a dam door. My dog can press my doorbell to tell me he wants inside.

In halo 2 that factor was missing, I mean, you handed their butts to them on a silver platter when you blew up the halo, now their back and want more, but, whats this, they can speak your language? How did that happen, did they take English 101 or something, I mean they don't even have an accent for goodness sake. I don't think I explained myself very well but, there's just that missing factor that made me dislike them.

Very good question. The answer is in the books. Cortana mixed a Covenant translator for english along with a Human translator for Covenant dialect to get a very accurate translator. I still dont understand how the arbiter could understand the Master Cheif. If you ask me they should have tried to shown the covenants side. In fact. Halo's storyline should have just gone down a different path if you ask me The covenant should never have broken apart etc.... But that will never happen. All we can do is hope that Sergent Johnson joins us and we get to kill every single last bastard (including the elites).... And yet again i seriously doubt it will be like that.
