Uh...

Hola, Flood.
Three days ago I started playing Fable 3 for the first time in about 8 months. Again.
It was fun, but after wandering around aimlessly I started to get bored of the constant 30K+ income every 5 minutes, effectively giving me free roam of the land and honestly nothing to really spend it on (considering Fable 3 is -blam!--tier RPG).
I've seen this on /b/ and /v/ a few years ago (when they were good boards) and, well, basically, you start a play-through on your favourite RPG (take Fable 3, but the most common on /v/ was Fallout 3) and then take the RPG into the realms of early D&D type roleplay where you give your character specific traits, flaws, and what have you.

In my example, I'll use a new save of Fable 3. If you don't give a -blam!-, just skip the quote box, I don't care honestly.
I started a new game with the idea that my female character is an apologetic alcoholic who is a violent drunk; but not just violent, I mean rampaging, mass murdering. Because of the apologetic (and rightfulness) side while not drunk, I imagine the character to be the type to go and make ammends and build relationships with people, donate to beggars, and buy -blam!-, as a method of apology to the town.
With the character being an alcoholic, this happens constantly, so my character is constantly becoming (Fable 3's pathetic version of) drunk, killing people, then doing community service, donating money to people, and then doing deeds for the people in the town to get good friendships with them.
With the alcoholism comes a malevolent attitude where, if given a source of power, the character is easily overcome with corruption. Hence, all the choices that are given are in a negative attitude, but all houses and buildings owned are set to lowest rent and earnings as a way of "apologising" for the bad control of power.

I haven't been doing this for very long, but I have to say that it's more fun and more time consuming, and more interesting than the actual story of Fable 3 is, so it's gotten me somewhat interested in the game again.
I suppose this should be a discussion, so I guess if you want you can post suggestions on subjective character traits, if you've ever done this, the whole discussiony thing.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

Role-play is a pretty common thing. I'm not so great at pretend though so I tend to instead make a lot of builds that vary mechanically and min/max them.
