I buy a bike because it gets me from point A to point B, helps with exercise and is also sort of fun to ride. I don't buy a bike because of all the shiny things that are put on it.
How is this any different? If you buy it, it will eventually be updated and because you purchased it you will have rights (unless strictly stated otherwise, you do have rights to this sort of content update). OP, are you just complaining for the sake of it? no one said the bike would come with shiny things, did they? also, the number of maps and how many people can play is generally quite important. It still doesn't change the fact that you buy it to play a game. Are you going to complain that it doesn't tell you exactly what type of guns you can use in the game? It's a matter of extras; if you can actually play it, then the games purpose for the most part has been fulfilled. Yeah the extras are a dodgy method of getting more people, but why would someone lie about that? Seriously? they just did lie about it. I can see were you're coming from, that all this stuff is unimportant and we should just play it, but it's the fact that they lied that gets me. by the way, have you actually bought this game? I haven't.I assume it to be in beta stage by default because of one comment made earlier. If anything, shouldn't you be doing a bit of research before forking out money on what is essentially an indie game?
I never buy video games anymore. The last time I put money towards one was in February and that was for GTA IV. I haven't touched this or DayZ, and honestly I don't care about either.
To the guy that makes the point about the car with the extras; you make a fair point. Again, it comes down to research. I mean, if he says it does, you should be able to proof check that, right? The same applies to games more or less, although I can understand how that'd be a bit difficult if it's a very recent release so I suppose I do sympathise for you.
I think the only point that I can bring up, really, is that it's still a game. I mean yeah you're not getting what they promised, but if it is in an alpha/beta then you shouldn't have anything to worry, if this is the final edition then I guess it's just the luck of the draw. I'm surprised a game like this managed to get through copyright, but DayZ isn't even a legitimate game so this is just I suppose trying to work that into legitimacy.
