Because regardless if you believe in God or not, you cannot deny that faith being part of a family plays a very important moral and support foundation.

I don;t want to get into a religious discussion though. i was was just responding to your comment.

Yes, lets totally ignore the moral implications of extremist and fundamentalist fanatics.

We should place all children in giant bubbles, with soft padding on the inside obviously, god forbid they get a scrape or bruise.

They call me graland.

1. Really not saying anything. Being busybodies isn't going to prevent someone from shooting them.
2. Complete waste of money. Metal detectors don't magically stop people from just shooting everyone.
3. Decent advice, but speaks to larger problems, like crappy attitudes towards mental health treatment.

The easiest and most effective thing is to just allow concealed carry on school grounds. Even if it's only for permanent faculty, armed resistance is the most effective counter for these types of gunmen.

That's not the implication he had with his comment and your comment is now bordering on slander and religious debate, which is a bannable offence. Trust me.

I think that metal detectors, along with actual campus security officers isn't a bad pairing. You're not going to make schools 100% safe from stuff like this, but these are fairly reasonable ways to address a bulk of the scenarios that lead to campus shootings.

The issue, of course, is budget. Whether it is a "waste" of money or not, security isn't cheap and public schools aren't exactly known for their budget flexibility.

It was then that I decided he really is like semen(everywhere) and I gave up on life.

I don't think a metal detector is really necessary in my child's elementary school.

There's always a police officer parked outside of the school at all times. There's always a security officer inside the building at all times. The doors are always locked (you can go out no one can get in) unless of course you're buzzed in, they're also bullet proof. Plus, they have safety procedures in place which are practiced routinely.

My daughter's school is pretty safe.

Concealed carry for whom exactly?
Utah already allows it for anyone; for less extreme solutions, I said just for permanent faculty, because that's the most invested and responsible group of people on school grounds.

Straightjackets for everyone. Train students to write and type with their mouths.
