I can't be the only one who thinks "Please, just end" after 5 minutes into a cutscene, and it happens in every MGS game. I was so bored after a few minutes of a cutscene in Peace Walker I went downstairs, came back up and it was still going.

Hopefully Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance won't be like this.

The Metal Gear Solid series has always been heavily cinematic, it's one of the reasons that I do not understand why anyone feels the need for a MGS movie.

Because MGS has always been Hideo Kojima's little sandbox to experiment with narrative. If he wants long cut scenes, let him. I thought those in MGS4 were fantastic.

He wants MGS to be cinematic. As he stated in an interview: "The human body's mass is made up of 60% water. Mine is 60% film."

At least, I think it was 60%.

So why not go the extra mile and make an actual film? It doesn't make sense.

I am at the end of Peace walker. I do not know why the final mission never unlocks. I have done pretty much all the requirements.....

Peace walker cutscenes were cool. MGS is known to have long cutscenes though, and it does not bother me.

Then why have it more cutscene than gameplay if it's going to be a game? I don't know about you but I buy games to play them, not to watch my character talk to another for 30 minutes.

I appreciate some of them, but some of them take so long and say so little...and the dialogue is sooo bad

And just the name, 'revengeance'...dear lord

As I've said, MGS is Kojima's sandbox. He likes to merge film and game together and bring out the best of both.

And I think it's a cool idea. Better than most thirty second cutscenes of today who serve no purpose but to make a character cool/present a plotline element hastily and with bad dialogue.

What is there not to understand about this? He wants to create experiences that are part interactive, part cinematic. He doesn't make games for you. For one, I share Hideo Kojima's love of that kind of game. If you don't like them, don't play them.

If you are talking about the level with Paz. You have to do those missions where Zadornov escapes. When you complete that final Zadornov mission you get that one with Paz.

That's right. I just dropped some AOL IM protocol.

I still love seeing people's faces when I tell them the ending cinematic to MGS4 is about an hour and twenty minutes long.

Cutscenes? You mean the game?

Infection in Halo 3 isn't zombie killing; it's ethnic cleansing. Have you ever noticed that these "zombies" are just black Spartans?

The length of the the cutscenes in the first Solid game were perfect - they were long, but not overly long.

Solid 4 on the other hand, way, way, way too long in some places. Some cutscenes in that game were 90% fluff - and not even good quality fluff.
