It would be fine with a few *slight* modifications:

1. Reduce tracking ability 50%, but increase speed of charge 50%.
2. Make it impossible to switch weapons during the "burning hands" animation.
3. Make the non-burst shots useful.

You don't just take out a weapon thats been in the series since the beginning...

If anything they need to reduce the auto aim so that it is more like Halo 1's Plasma Pistol. It shouldn't just take your shield down it should hurt you as well. All i can really say is make it more like the Halo 1 plasma pistol.

yeah.... take out a great weapon just czuase some guys get PWNED by it loads and call it "n00b combo"...

So the jackals and grunts will be short on 1 weapon. Is that what you want? To be mean to the adorable grunts and skinny weak jackals?

If anything, the Plasma Pistol should be made stronger. In Halo 2, Bungie downgraded a lot of weaopns so that they would be compatiable for dual-wielding, making it seem like you have to dual-wield if you want to win. That was a bad move, I think, but hey, I didn't make the game, and it's not my rules.

Anyway, back to the point. The Plasma Pistol's individual shots should be made stronger so that it is a more formiddable weapon. I mean, in MP in Halo 2, would you be afraid of a guy who only had a PP when you have an SMG? No, right? Exactly. The PP in Halo 2 has been made possibly one of the weakest and/or worthless guns in the game, and is only good for the noob combo.

Bungie, please make the PP stronger and better, so that it has usage outside of zapping away someone's shields.

The plasma pistol was great in Multiplayer. With a Plasma Pistol and a SMG i owned.

The PP should remain in the game. There is no reason why it should be removed. The people that whine about it need to start using that thing inside their skull when in battle with another player. Use the environment such as rocks, trees, walls and columns to protect yourself.

The people that complain about the PP are an interesting breed at times. The other day in MM I used the PP to knock off someone's shields and then punched them down. And somehow I was a noob for using the "Noob Combo," even though I punched him and used one weapon.

I think it's funny that people complain about the weapons. It's not noob to use the weapons that are provided. The sword, sniper and rockets are powerfull too. They are not cheap, it's a video game. Different weapons are good for diferent situations. You wouldn't charge someone 100 yards away with a sword when they have a sniper. Think before you run blindly into a battle and stop complaining if YOU made a bad decision. A good player should be able to adapt to the game, map, and the weapons; not complain and whine to Bungie until they get things their way.

I think it should be changed to one of these two versions.

1. No tracking, no overcharged bursts, stronger individual shots.

2. No tracking, can't swich weapons when hand is burning.

Tomas and Hellborn are right. Leave it as is, or make it more powerful. And yes, dual-wielding isn't all it's cracked up to be...

You're complaining about the weakest gun in the game. The overcharge is the only reason why there would even be such a weapon.

the problem is that maps are balanced for swords rockets and snipers, plus it makes sense for them to be powerful weapons. It doesn't make sense that some one rocking a plasma pistol combo will win out at close range against all the supposed close range weapons.

An easy way to fix the combo problem and keep the plasma pistol in.

Make the homing charge shot less effective. Make so the distance is cut down and that players are able to dodge it. The only way the plasma pistol would take skill to use is if you had to have a decent shot to be able to hit someone.

Well they dont need to take out the plasma pistol but they do need to fix it so the charge shot dosnt home on players any more.

The only reason no-one complained about how strong the PP was in Halo 1 (it was much more powerful than the H2 version) is because the M6D pistol was so all powerful.

I have used the PP and pistol combination many a time to drop elites quickly and effortlessly in Halo 1. Hell, watch some legendary videos of Halo 1. You see some guys almost exclusively going around with the PP pwning elites with the overcharge facility.

Also, being someone who has been around for a while, i find it quite funny that the pp/br combo used to be called the 'pr0 combo' and PP+another weapon in dual weild config where very prominantly featured in early montages.

You realise of course that MLG originally was rife with top players exclusively using the pp/br combo before they changed the gametypes.

The plasma Pistol is fine the way it is. But i will accept any changes that BUNGIE makes to it.

What i will not accept is people -blam!-ing that it is too powerful.

No, just turn down the comedy homing, increase the speed, and make it a useful gun in it's own right - a bit like Halo 1.

Plasma pistol is unbalanced. Here are the reasons:
1--Its normal shots are too weak.
2--Its normal shots lag on Live.
3--It has too much tracking when charged.
4--If one person picks it up, it doesn't respawn until he/she drops it.

There's your proof. The PP needs to be altered.

There was no problem with the weapon in Halo: Combat Evolved. It is Halo 2 that has the problem.

If they took down the tracking or speed of the charge, it would be less effective.

Well if they dont take it out they could at least make it more like the one in Halo 1 where your able to dodge the charge blast easier or make the weapon weaker alltogether.
