I have and love both consoles. The Playstation 3 is a recent addition and so far, I've absolutely loved it. The Uncharted series as well as Journey have proven to be some of the most powerful and amazing games I've had the pleasure of playing.
That said, I do have gripes with the console. Most of them could be easily remedied so I fail to see why they haven't evolved since launch. First, the User Interface on their dashboard is horrible. The crossbar feels ridiculously out of date, especially when you go to a smart phone, tablet, or Xbox's personal one. Moreover, the lack of a party chat system and the inability to simple boot up a game (you have to scroll over several times to even play upon turning the console on), just seems odd. That, and I dislike their controller but that is just personal preference.
Xbox and Xbox Live will continue to be my preferred gaming console environment as its features, UI, and the fact that nearly all of my friends are on it, causes me to continue to game there. With the next console generation, I'm eager to see the evolution of Xbox Live and PSN and whether or not Microsoft will invest heavily into new IP's for the system.
