Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

...or are we still getting there?

I was thinking about this last night over a small cup of my favorite dark chocolate gelato. I know that there are several companies, like Google, working on glasses that overlay data in our field of view. So that you have instant and total informational awareness of our surroundings.

This led me to the thought: can we truly be in the Information Age if we don't have informational awareness? Could we indeed be in the pre-information age? The transition from a post industrialist society to a truly informational one?

A penny for your thoughts.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

A penny for all of my thoughts?

Seems like you are low-balling me.

We already have this technology in fighter jets and modern cars

It'll be in eyeglasses before long.

But are we in the Information Age before we have our information everywhere? Might we still just be post-industrialist?

Whether it comes straight into our head or not is irrelevant, the important factor is that most of us wouldn't even be able to lead normal lives at this point without some form of connection to the internet or other similar services.

Yes we are in the information age.

This. And not everything is "connected" to the internet yet. We still need faster, smaller processors, and more efficient energy storage and usage to reach the supposed "information age".

Yes we are in the information age.
Both are valid points.

"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

I don't know the definition of Information Age, or even how expansive that concept supposedly is, but yeah, I'd think so. Now it's just a matter of scope.

+1 for you good sir.

I'd say we're in the information age already. Think about it, when you buy a CD, what are you really buying? The $2 CD? or the $20 worth of information on the CD?

Everything you buy has tons of information on it.

Who am I?

mah twitter

The information age has already started, but we are still at the beginning.

Whatever that means.

Fun Fact: Batteries are actually one of the greatest hindrances to technology nowadays.

I did a project about two and a half years ago on broadcast power. Neat stuff is on the horizon. Neat stuff...
