The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Guns debate threads are now being instantly locked in the Flood. Other threads are randomly locked as well. We all know which moderator does this, time and time again. Those of us that have been members here a long time know that we have no rights, but a little consistency from moderators goes a long way.

I would think those threads are basically becoming spam now...

You have no rights, play nice.

The Flood is not the place for a debate on gun control, etc.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Uhhh why? It's an off-topic forum. Gun discussion is off topic.

Personally I think anything that isn't illegal should be allowed to be discussed on the Flood.

the only problem i have with mine is that it's unstable,[very shakey],so you'd need a tripod for it.

I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

If you have complaints with moderators then take it up with HFCS, but the webteam trusts the ninjas and they themselves moderate as they see fit. If a thread warrants a lock then it will be issued with one. Locked threads serve as an example for one to learn from, not to replicate.

Discussions of gun control fall under the umbrella of political discussion, which Bungie has said that they do not want on their site.

There is a time and a place for political discussions, and that the main forums are not that place. If you want to discuss politics go to a private group that takes part in political discussions.

This, and...

There is a time and a place for political discussions, and that the main forums are not that place. This is not the time. Emotions are running high in the wake of the massacre in CT and while gun control may be a hot topic on sites like CNN, it's not acceptable here because of those high emotions.

If you're not happy with the restriction, there are other site where you can go have your gun discussions.

Progo, Shrew, Chryso, all are the same.

inb4lock!
OT I don't think Bnet is the place to tout or shout about AK47's, there are plenty of other places to do that.

Good. I'm getting tired of seeing them.

Key

All gun debate threads? Even non-political ones? Because if so that's ridiculous.

Gun control threads, fine.

"What do you think should constitute an assault weapon?", not so much.

That is a political thread. Assault weapons are a part of the debate over guns, a debate that Bungie does not want to happen on the main forums.

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

If you were to start a discussion about which is better value: the 10/22 or the Mosin Nagant (example), you would probably be fine.

I don't. Which moderator is instantly locking gun debates and other "random threads"?

Not true. The classification of the thing that is an assault weapon doesn't have to be a one done by the government. It's one that can be done between people. If it was "which assault weapons should be illegal?", that's different.

Moo

I am in agreement with "A Pimpin Lady" and "domi 233"'s link.

A video game's forum does not and should not hold refuge to any type of heated political discussion, whether or not it is considered productive or not. There are a multitude of other places and forums on the interblarg in which political discussions are permitted.

In addition, unlike other nefarious companies, Bungie kindly makes it clear in the rules "You have no rights", "Bungie controls everything". All in all, I'm not completely sure why these rules are in question. Save yourself some stress and don't argue.
