Progo, Shrew, Chryso, all are the same.

I noticed that DeeJ said the crew would be having a break for the holidays, that makes sense, but why would they release info on destiny right before their vacay? Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

So they don't have to stick around and answer all the questions that pop up after the announcement maybe?

I don't know though. If they officially announce Destiny before 2013, then okay. If they announce it sometime in January, then okay.

Bungie doesn't like French on their site.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I see it as they have worked really hard in making the preparations and are taking a break to continue working when they come back.

Something could be announced and be something we focus on for a few weeks till everyone comes back.

But that is doubtful

Its most likely going to be sometime in 2013.
Which I'm ok with because I don't want hem to rush something.
They will give us something when they think the timing is right and own their time not ours.

Be patient the sun is starting to rise.

Yeah it could be in days, weeks, months.

Something doesn't seem right with a 2013 release and we haven't seen much of anything yet. I also thought it was weird marketing people had Destiny info and nothing has been announced or appears to be announced soon.

Normally games scheduled for like a fall release would of been announced like a month or 2 ago.

So either it is announced like extremely soon or it is probably going to be a 2014 release.

What did they do before they announced ODST? I thought it was kind of Cryptic.

Didn't they have a superintendent account and made the front page of the site weird. Was that sudden and out of nowhere?

The Super Intendent account posts were very sudden and out of nowhere, and it led up to the countdown to E3, which had it's plug pulled by Microsoft. If memory serves, there were several Super Intendent Accounts who's usernames were made up of i's and L's, and there was some code hidden in them that pointed towards E3, but in the present we have nothing like that which points towards the 21st.

The VGAs were at the very least plausible. There is nothing going for the 21st beyond the fact that it's the day the world is supposed to end.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Active 9/1/11, Heroic 12/25/12

1A. Release Plan A
The release plan for the Destiny Games ("ReIease Plan") is currently comprised of four (4) major retail Destiny Game releases tentatively scheduled for the Fall of 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019
Key word: tentatively.

Bungie could decide to release Destiny during the holiday season of 2014 for all we know. A teaser trailer released early to mid 2013 would make the most sense.

Okay so lets say Bungie is going to announce something, how would they tell us it is coming?

a countdown clock you think?

Fall 2013 release, man they are pushing it. Even if it is a 2014 release, we would probably start seeing a trailer now.

But they have been working on this game since 09' (Destiny Awaits, ODST) so we are looking at well over 3 years of planning, development, etc. (I think they could of been working on the idea/preparation since 07').

Also, I'd think they would want to release Bungie.next before a Destiny reveal. Attracting a bunch of attention with new news would bring a mass of new people checking out the site.

It would look better if they were greeted by the new website format, and the new format might need some stress-testing or something before it's fully operational. Inviting people over before you put a new coat of paint on the walls doesn't make much sense.

I could see Bungie.next going live right after the trailer also.

If they released Bungie.next early it might give away some surprises.

I don't understand this logic. There doesn't have to be anything pointing toward an announcement date, they could just outright announce it.

Should we fill the forum with speculation threads discussing the merits of Destiny being announced on the 19th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, etc? Because it's just as likely that the game will be announced on those dates.

I don't want people getting their hopes up, which could very well happen if I logged into Bungie.net, saw the title of this post and said to myself "Huh, Destiny information is supposed to be released on the 21st? It's the first I've heard about it, but they're talking about it like it's a thing, so I guess I should look forward to Friday."

If there was actually anything pointing towards a reveal on Friday, I would be cool with letting people gamble with their expectations and emotions, but since there isn't, I merely wish to set the record straight.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

You guys worry too much. It is just a game bros.

Yeah but Bungie won't probably do anything to signal something is coming, all we get is soon.

The last time Bungie used Soon was about 20 days ago and that was without a TM.

Would they do that? They seem to be changing some of the inner working of the site, so I would think that they would ease it in to avoid problems. Releasing it along side of a Destiny reveal would immediately test the new site, which could cause many glitches or a failure.

As for secrets, Bungie could just update the background or skin of the website. I just don't think they would launch a new website system and then immediately stress it.

The new website will most likely launch when Destiny is announced. Destiny will most likely be announced when Bungie returns from their winter break.
