I absolutely loved The Hobbit, but I heard 3D was horrible, some employee at my local theater got a seizure from watching it in 3D.

Hahahahahaha

I just think the main problem is that the Lord of the Rings are adult movies and the Hobbit is a kids movie. I see that this worked for alot of people but it just didn't for me.

I saw it in 3D, didn't even really remember I was watching it in 3D after awhile. I didn't mind it at all.

Just out of curiosity do you like any kids movies? Lion King? Spirited Away?

Its not getting a lot of hate, its just that the minority is louder. Also nit-pickers

LOL no. My complaints aren't nitpicks, they're legitimate reasons on why the film is bad. And we're barely the minority now, the reaction is definitely mixed.

Get out.

The film was epic, it wasn't perfect but it was damn near close.

This, i loved the film.

Article:

7 paragraphs lauding the movie

2 paragraph pointing out flaws

1 paragraph explaining why the movie isn't Phantom Menace-esque, warning of avoiding a reliance on CGI and hand-holding with the plot

Sounds fine to me. The title was an attention-grabber, nothing more.

These films are not cheap cash grabs no matter what Forever Alone has to say about it. Why? Because cheap cash grabs do not spend millions and millions and millions of dollars on their film and do not spend nearly 2 years filming it.

edit: Does NO ONE remember that this story is being told by Bilbo? Does NO ONE remember that in the first print of the book that Bilbo LIED about certain thing and exaggerated others? IMO any inconsistencies that my arise when compared to the previous films can partly if not fully be put on the fact that we are NOT 'seeing' this story but rather being told it by someone who witnessed it 60 years prior. In this realize that the parts that Bilbo is not in were learned by him second hand, and to the audience third hand. Embellishment and exaggeration are expected, as is humor because we see in the film and book that (older bilbo at least) has a sense of humor.

A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

While it wasn't amazing I somewhat enjoyed it..

I can't wait to see Beorn, Battle of the Five Armies, and Smaug (Not just his eye).

I am still confused to the third film's relevance, but we'll see I suppose.
Im guessing its going to start at stilt town, or maybe in the Elven Prisions, although I think its the former. I see a pattern: Like how film 1 was Shire to edge of Misty Mountians, film 2 will be Misty Mountains to edge of Mirkwood.

And to answer your questions about film 3, I think they're going to go into great detail about the white council and driving Sauron out of Mirkwood. Depending on how they fit it in will determine the start and end of the next two movies.

Also my feedback of hobbit: I started getting sick halfway through (flu since Sunday) and I still loved it. Only complaints was 3D was -blam!- (I hate 3D though, Avatar was the last 3D movie I saw) and it went really fast at some points, especially the beginning. I dont know if that was due to HFR or not. Those are my only complaints, and the oustanding points of the film were:
Perfect amount of humor
Relayed the relationship between Bilbo and Thorin perfectly
Perfect amount of action
Great additon of Ragadash and pale orc portions

While i dont think it lived up to the lord of the rings it was still a good film. I only had a couple of complaints the main one being wtf did they do to Radagast. Everything about his character just annoyed me.

  • 12.19.2012 9:11 AM PDT

i watched the whole lotr trilogy prior to going to see this movie, and it didn't disappoint. there seems to be a lot of mixed reactions but i loved it, best film of the year for me.

  • 12.19.2012 9:45 AM PDT

The title confused me.

  • 12.19.2012 9:52 AM PDT

I thought it was really good.

  • 12.19.2012 10:25 AM PDT

If you read it the critic actually liked the film, moron.

They had to basically re make the character from the ground up. In the books, the few times he is mentioned he is nothing more than Brown Gandalf that loves animals.

Huffington Post article.

All of my wat. I'm not proclaiming that The Hobbit is as good as LotR, but I still really enjoyed it. I don't understand all the hate this movie is getting. Sure, there were some things I didn't like about it (The Goblin King, the stone giant scene, and overuse of CGI enemies) but overall I felt it was everything it needed to be and did the world of Middle Earth justice.
I agree with this entirely. Although, the Goblin King had a video game feel to it. It definitely fits in a video game, just not the movie itself.

The Stone Giants fight was... very random and out of place.
That part, I'm guessing, was one of the many scenes that was drawn out way too long only because they needed to be able to fit the Hobbit into 3 movies. not to mention the fact that the first part of The Hobbit movie was almost 3 hours long.

All of my wat.

Did all you read was the title?

The overall consensus that I've gotten concerning The Hobbit is that it's to Lord of the Rings as the Phantom Menance is to the original Star Wars trilogy.

But that doesn't make The Hobbit the same caliber of bad as the Phantom Menance. The Hobbit falters in telling a story correctly, instead substituting all the grandeur from the original LoTR trilogy.

There are other changes as well, notably stretching the story into three movies when the original book was just one book and not the three book saga LoTR was.

So the Prequel trilogy is not a cheap cash grab according to you then right? Also lol at your insult to me. Do it again and I'm reporting you.

Do I really have to break down again why this movie sucked?

No body really cared last time, so no.

I'm laughing at how easily offended you are. LAUGHING OUT LOUD. And no, the prequels were not cheap cash grabs, they were bad movies by a bad film maker. They were the "true vision" of Lucas and exposed how far he has fallen. A TRUE cash grab would be any of the Starship Trooper sequels.
