Who cares if I lie?

Aniston got them rustled, but looking at guitar prices online has done it O_o

I'm messaging Horse from FT, he'll know something. I really didn't want to spend more than ~$120

I paid very little. Like, $100 or something for a Squier for my first.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Understandable. My $100 guitar lasted for a number of years, too. Learning to play guitar AND body building? Son, all the women... they will be yours.

  • 12.18.2012 8:05 PM PDT

I bought mine with my own money when I was like 15. For like 200. I still have it, and I don't have enough money for another, so I make the best of it.
It's electric, the amp costs 100.

Haha yeah... it's not too difficult to get a cheap guitar.

I'm not going to shell out $500 for anything, let alone something I'm just learning how to use or play.

I found much cheaper ones now.

Yo

My top two guitars:

Acoustic:
I bought myself a Seagull Entourage Rustic mini jumbo. About $350, and it was a fantastic buy. Amazing sound quality that rivals Ibanez or Gibson. Absolutely would recommend to anyone, beginner or pro.

Electric:
I bought a Les Paul junior Special Humbucker. It's was $1000, but it's a Les Paul so it's obviously great; very light, good growl.

Weird I just put mine down. I spent about 300 and it's now broken and trashed. I play a super cheap acoustic now.

Yes, I play lefty. Or... I play lefty on guitar hero so I'd imagine I play it on a real guitar too.

Gibson Les Pauls are famous for being very versatile guitars. You could play heavy metal or bluesy jazz on a Les Paul; it sounds great either way.

So, I know electric would suit hard rock, would acoustic be best for soft rock then, or would electric still be the way to go?

I'm thinking about going with the seagull s6 right now.

Well I would recommend getting a cheap starter guitar, Squire bullet is the norm generic guitar that everyone and their uncle buys and then sells on craigslist after it sits in the corner for a two years, you could get one and an amp really cheap (80$) but it will not be fun or easy to play.

Soft rock? Honestly, that could go either way. I'd say both are necessary for soft rock, actually.

If it's your very first guitar, I would suggest acoustic. It's better to learn on acoustic first.

Damn nice guitar.

I got the candy apple red one, not the sunburst. It is a very nice guitar though, especially being a Squier.

OP if you aren't into metal at all, and like a rich warm sound then you could try a semi hollow body guitar!

Epiphone Dot Studio

Ibanez AS73

These are both great guitars for the money, pretty reliable used too.

I personally own a Ibanez AS93 (which is really just an AS73 with some mostly cosmetic features, but the 73 didn't come in blue so...) and love the hell out of it. Something about the beauty, sound and novelty of semis just gets to me.

I love my Gibson Les Paul. It was very pricey, but definitely worth what i paid. It sounds good plugged into an amp and just on its own when im jamming in my dorm.

Wait OP, are you just starting to learn guitar, or have you been playing for a while?
