Anyone here think that legislation in the U.S. is going to try and crack down on the gaming industry for "violent" games?

I have a feeling that video games are going to be a topic in legislation that's going to be discussed along with gun control, just because politicians are trying to make an image of themselves that says, "I'm a good guy, I don't like violence. Vote for me."

Anyone else have that feeling?

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I don't think it will go that far if it has not already. It will just always be a hot topic for the media and a scapegoat for the uneducated, though.

Anything to try and shift guilt and blame on others.

I'd be more concerned if we didn't have that Supreme Court ruling in our favor.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

The future of gaming makes me feel special that I grew up with an NES and so forth.

Cole

Video games aren't any worse than movies. So no.

Let me ask you all, all of you who have played "violent games" do you go out and believe its real and want to imitate it? Anyone who cannot make the seperation of the real and virtual world has a bit of an issue.

I think "we" as a gaming community, understand that violent video games don't turn us into maniacs with murderous tendencies... I certainly didn't learn how to drive by playing Forza, and I don't know how to shoot because I played CoD, BF3, and Halo 4... (my gaming life sucks right now, I know)

I just think that all those politicians who wan't to save face and pretend that they can actually solve an issue, are going to find a scapegoat. That scapegoat will probably be video games at some point, and it could be in the near future.
