Don't. Ever. Get. Razer.

I suggest a nice MSI laptop or even ASUS. Personally, I would go with a Clevo/Sager laptop myself, business look, but hardcore internals<3

If you want me to supply links to viable laptops, I'll need to know which country you reside in(I'm guessing the U.S.?)

If I even mention Alienware will I be set on fire?

Oh well here goes: Alienware is really good but quite pricey.

I'm going to be respectable with this response, link me a Alienware laptop that has good hardware that is also under $1500, actually, link me one that is under $2000(you won't find one).

As I said: really good but quite pricey. That said, the 14 inch base model is below $2000.

Ibuypower isn't too bad for laptops. They give you a lot of power in those tiny things. I would go with them above anyone else. Unless you can find a comparably specced Asus or Lenovo for less.

MSI Laptops from Newegg;

i7, GTX 675m, 1.5TB HD(dual hard drive bay, only one populated), 12GB of RAM.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168341523 46

This one has a GTX 670m but comes with a 128GB SSD and a 500GB HD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168341523 35

There is also Windows 8 versions, but I figured you'd want Windows 7.

Now here is a Sager notebook(Clevo rebranded);

-i7, 8GB of RAM, GTX 670m, dual hard drive bay(only one populated, 500GB drive), Windows 8 with option for Windows 7.
http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_customed& amp;model_name=NP9170

All of these laptops have a 1920x1080 display, have dual hard drive bays, all i7's and 17.3" displays and all look amazing(I love Clevo/Sager's simple business look!).

Of course you can probably find some 15.6" for cheaper.

I also recommend this site: http://www.notebookcheck.net/

You can look up individual GPU scores for all different kinds of games, if you think you are better for a GTX 660m then so be it, or if you feel you need the extra horsepower, get a 670m!

A tower? Build your own.

Prebuilts are often overpriced and often will have some underwhelming parts coupled with overkill parts.

I had bad experiences with gaming on laptops so I can't really recommend one.

You would prefer a gaming PC instead? I would need to know if you need a copy of windows, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.

I can easily build a configuration for less than $1200 if need be, if you don't feel comfortable with putting the system together yourself, you can always take all the parts to a local PC shop and they can put it together for you, otherwise you are better off buying a pre-built tower that is semi-configured to suit your needs and price range.

You can get basically the same specs as the best laptop here on ibuypower for $1405 besides having 1333 8 gb ram instead of 1600, unless you wanna upgrade further, which isn't a big deal honestly. The price doesnt include shipping obviously. i7, 675m 4 gb. Really not that bad compared to the others listed.

For the monitor, pretty much any 1920x1080 will do.

The mouse and keyboard is really just personal preference.

Why did you recommend one 8GB stick instead of 2x4GB? Dual channel is faster/more efficient than a single stick.

I'd also recommend a 100gb SSd for windows, and a 1 terabyte HDD for Games

It says that there are possible incompatibilities and I have no idea how to fix them... Anyone?

1. Go to PC Partpicker
2. Choose a GPU, CPU, Motherboard, Case, RAM, HDD, PSU, and OS, as well as monitor, mouse and keyboard if you need them.
3. You cannot pick incompatable parts - the site won't let you. It will only choose parts that work together.
4. Pick and mix to suit your budget. Read reviews on parts, brands, etc.
5. Watch this, this and finally this
6. Put the pieces together like adult lego.
7. Enjoy your custom built PC rig for years to come.

I have less than no idea how to pick the pieces, could you maybe pick out a rig that'll cost around 1k?
