MAKERS of bulletproof backpacks say they have seen sales soar in wake of the Sandy Hook school massacre.

The Ballistic Backpack is sold by US-based Amendment II and come with designs including Disney Princess and the Avengers.

The company mostly makes bulletproof vests and body armour which are sold to police officers, soldiers and other security workers.

So military grade backpacks are being made for children? Guess that's one way to give the military powerhouse more money to squander.

Isn't it a little strange for this sort of thing to happen so quickly after the tragedy? I mean countless university shooting and nothing, suddenly 11 year olds get killed and "Disney decorated bulletproof backpacks for sale" suddenly appears.

If I ever get AIDS, I'm going to sleep with another AIDS person so my AIDS cancel each other out, or I'm going to make the AIDS I already have worse.

I had a very similar thing, only I threw a 14 story building out of a pool and hit a kid on a paper aeroplane.

The Flood is just this awesome :D

Bulletproof backpacks? That must be hell on your back when you're carrying textbooks and binders everywhere.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

That's just stupid. First of all, Kevlar is heavy. You're going to put that weight on a child's back? Secondly, it still doesn't stop rifle rounds, which is what everyone is freaking out about.

Why is everyone so stupid now?

Because they are American.

I read the title, and was very confused at the idea of the sales going badly.

Don't you love it when people try to profit off the death of people and children? This isn't going to save lives.

I would say this qualifies as an example.

I'm going to blame the parents of this "PlayStation Generation."

They weren't raised properly because they grew up during the Vietnam Era, where everyone was either stoned, overseas fighting, or fighting each other back home. So, they don't know how to raise their children properly. It's like the blind leading the blind and the deaf directing the symphony. The end result is a generation of screw ups and idiots.

Well when you send the smart ones off to war what do you expect?

America is the only country I know that sends people to college to get and education and then once they finish, send them off to fight.

That's a waste of money right there.

College itself is a waste of money here. It's basically just a few years of partying and BS'ing your war through exams. Since our military is made entirely of volunteers and we've got tons of college graduates with useless degrees, what do they do? Enlist, because we're at war so we'll take almost anyone that signs the paperwork.

They were the people with common sense and a work ethic. We're seriously lacking in those two aspects nowadays.

I disagree; it's what you make of it. If you spend all your time partying and "BS'ing" your way through exams, of course it's going to feel like a waste of money. If you use the time to learn about your field and build up a nice list of contacts, it can be extremely beneficial.

If you plan to go to college you can get the military to pay for you in return you sign up.

So you pass your exams and then you go and get shot at for a few years. Thats $100,000 down the drain.

And the majority of college students do the former because they've yet to make up their mind on what career they want, and they don't look at the bigger picture. High school didn't teach then anything that was actually relevant, so they just party another four years away.

Majority is pushing it. Yes, there are some people who are only there to make mommy and daddy happy - but those people typically don't make it through the first couple of years. Once you get through the generals and onto the concentrated courses, the environment becomes more serious. (Not saying partying is bad or anything. It's a good way to meet people and keep the stress down.) It's about moderation.

Paranoia is a very comforting state of mind. If you think they're out to get you, it means you think you matter.
