For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

College itself is a waste of money here. It's basically just a few years of partying and BS'ing your war through exams.
I disagree; it's what you make of it. If you spend all your time partying and "BS'ing" your way through exams, of course it's going to feel like a waste of money. If you use the time to learn about your field and build up a nice list of contacts, it can be extremely beneficial.

And the majority of college students do the former because they've yet to make up their mind on what career they want, and they don't look at the bigger picture. High school didn't teach then anything that was actually relevant, so they just party another four years away.
Majority is pushing it. Yes, there are some people who are only there to make mommy and daddy happy - but those people typically don't make it through the first couple of years. Once you get through the generals and onto the concentrated courses, the environment becomes more serious. (Not saying partying is bad or anything. It's a good way to meet people and keep the stress down.) It's about moderation.

Once you get into the concentrated courses, yes. But most of the people I see are just BS'ing their way to a Bachelor's. I don't see too many going for their Doctorate's.

On the Left

Godshatter: I can go all the way with someone without being attracted to them.
CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

Then you just had a bad experience. As for me, I had a good experience.

So military grade backpacks are being made for children? Guess that's one way to give the military powerhouse more money to squander.
Just because they're marketed as "bulletproof," doesn't mean that they're "military-grade."

Isn't it a little strange for this sort of thing to happen so quickly after the tragedy?
No. After every shooting like this people just lose their minds and run around like morons.

I mean countless university shooting and nothing, suddenly 11 year olds get killed and "Disney decorated bulletproof backpacks for sale" suddenly appears.
They developed and sold the backpacks before the Connecticut shooting. Sales just exploded afterwards as people realised "hey, maybe these aren't a bad idea after all."

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

People are stupid. Crap like this sucks away my faith in humanity.

There've been shootings, so what does the US do? It allows gun control laws to be immeasurably swayed by the actions of five or ten totally insane individuals.

Suddenly everybody and their mother is so worried about guns, but last week, nobody gave half a -blam!-.

This country is so manipulable.
