Subject: Minecraft Xbox 360 update #7 came out today.

The HELL you are! These are precious gifts to me and they are non-transferable! How dare you regift my challenge prize. You might as well hock a wedding ring for beer money. -DeeJ

Here's a list of new additions.

Who will be trying out all these new features today? Does anyone here already have it?

  • 12.19.2012 5:56 AM PDT

I enjoyed these features over a year ago. Will probably check them out on the Xbox version once I'm bored with Tekkit though.

I hope we can trade with the villagers. Non of the articles mention that.

You can't. That probably won't be added until TU 9 at least.

Where does it say we can't trade? Why would they add villagers if we can't trade with them?

Lol why would you think trading would be in the update?

Because trading came out in 1.3 while villagers were added in 1.0.

Bingo. If they added villager trading they would have said so. I've read every tweet 4J studios has posted since the last update they made as well as all info they've released on this one. They never mentioned anything about trading. Villages were a very pointless feature until 1.3

Meh not really trading is mainly good for emeralds and that is only due to the looks. Even then trading will be nerfed at which point it just becomes a waste of time for the most part. If anything villagers are far more useful for iron farms.

Nah they were useful in 1.2. Though anything 1.4 or later they are useless at least for trading.

They were only useful in 1.2 if you made Iron Golem farms. Mob farms in general are stupid and kinda ruin the game anyways.

Trading does need adjustment though. Emeralds seem too rare for the trades you get for them.

Octavia is best pony.

I've been waiting for animal breeding since 360 Minecraft released. Now, I can finally create a functioning egg farm.

Nah farms are great for the time/resources it takes to build them. As for trading the issue is in 1.3 people exploited the -blam!- out of it. Then in 1.4 they nerfed it to be just a giant pain in the ass to do anything with. Nowadays it is best to just go with witch farms since they get you glowstone and redstone which was the only really useful items villagers gave out.

I'm not denying they are useful, they just ruin the game imo. I prefer Tekkit for that reason, where there are intentional features that allow massive manufacturing of items rather than use of exploitation.

I find that kind of funny since it is far easier to abuse tekkit than it is vanilla Minecraft. As for exploitation a lot of exploits in vanilla that use to be there are gone. Mojang has tried their best to stop farming in so many ways it isn't even funny.

Which is why it's both a plus and a minus that they're taking the condenser out of Equivalent Exchange 3. It's a plus because it was extremely powerful and easily exploited. It's a minus because I loved the hell out of the Energy Condenser.

The only over-exploitable feature in Tekkit is Equivalent Exchange. Everything else is pretty balanced as far as I can tell. Also Jeb nerfed farms altogether in an update and then reverted it. They no longer seem to care if people do it because it's just how some people play. Which I respect. I just don't like it.

Heard about that. I used it too. It was great for quarries. Pumping in all that useless cobble, dirt, sand, etc. Or just throwing in some extra Nikolite to make diamonds. It was beautiful. But they'll likely keep the Transmutation Tablet, which is essentially the same thing just not automatic. Which I can live with.

Using a recycler can pretty much do the trick as an alternative, seeing as how UU-Matter can make just about anything useful in the game.

They have reverted a nerf to my knowledge. So I would like to know what you are talking about.

Yeah... that's what I said

You must have misread what I said. To my knowledge a nerf has never been reverted. You said they reverted a nerf they did which to my knowledge isn't true. So I am asking you what nerf they reverted?

They included an XP farm nerf in a 1.4 snapshot but then Jeb decided to revert the change.

  • 12.19.2012 6:50 AM PDT

hmm

Don't actually have Minecraft on my Xbox, probably getting it after this update though.

I figured that is what you were talking about. That is a snapshot not a final update so that doesn't count. Snapshots are for the most part is where a lot of balancing takes place so nerfs/buffs happen all the time in them.

Well yeah. But a snapshot represents what will likely be in the final release. Had he no changed his mind, that nerf would have been included. I'd still say it counts for something.

Honestly he should have kept it in imo.
