Quote looks much better on top.

La-hoo, Za-her.

Having to delete that extra line above the quote annoyed me for years. But now I'm just like...

Butter my ass, turn around, spread open my butt cheeks, and say "Right here mutha-blam!-a!!"

That damned space
I don't mind when people reply above the quote, but if you're not going to, delete the gap.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

Did someone say quote button?

I don't get that gap when I use that.

the only problem i have with mine is that it's unstable,[very shakey],so you'd need a tripod for it.

Just drink a beer and everything will be ok

It should be customisable, so that the user can choose to automatically have a space added on top/on the bottom.

  • 12.19.2012 12:41 PM PDT

I bet it will, considering it's likely to be a major overhaul which Acrhonos was basically waiting for to fix this. I remember something about not wanting to dig up code on the site to fix one glitch, when doing so may make more surface.

Because as much as Achronos will adamantly defend putting the quote BENEATH your response, 99% of the forumgoers don't do so.

Will we finally not be forced to delete that annoying space when Bungie.net is overhauled? Or will quoting continue to be mildly inconvenient for us all?

The quote beneath the response? That's retarded.. This way is more logical.

Achronos did this on purpose because he has always quoted on the bottom. It's not broken in the eyes of the man who created and manages the system. Therefore it will not be "fixed"... probably.

Swag punks, fuck off!

I think it's fine as is.

Actually he's admitted it was a glitch, IIRC. Couldn't find the post if you asked me to though. Sounds like a job for Verachi.

Really? I thought I remembered seeing him say that it was intentional in the main thread about the change back when they did it... I'm not sure though. I'll see what i can find.

edit: here's the post. I think the bug is referring to the blank line. That's what the thread is about.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

I really don't see the issue here.

Maybe we'll get a new forum system and this will be irrelevant.

I think this a non-issue. Just because you think it's an issue doesn't mean it is an issue. I'm sure there are bigger issues that are real issues. Over the years I found that issues are only issues because you choose to make them issues.

That is a terrible idea OP. People should quote however it is they want to quote.

If you want to take the time and always remove that space, OK.
If people want to just type their responce up in that sapce, OK.
If people just reply by using the enter key to create a space, OK.

I see no reason to get butthurt, especialy when you consider that it can be a mess when you hit the quote buttion after you type. I know that without the space at the top I'd have fumbled around for an extra minute or so.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

If you are not improving it then you are not fixing it.

This one should fix Achronos.$str =~ s/^(?:(.*)(?=\[quote\]))?(.+)$/${2}${1}/si;

I don't see anything wrong with the quote system.

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

I have no idea what your talking about. What is wrong with the quoting?

The space above the quoted text. It's a small, but annoying thing.
